Too much filler
If I wanted to know this much detail about the life of the guy who started the company that made the ship that sank, as well as the captain and the crew's life story, literally right down to what they had for breakfast the morning of the sinking... let's just say I am not going to read it. Waste of my money and time.

Fantastic book for those of us who love the Great ...
Fantastic book for those of us who love the Great Lakes, and especially lake Michigan. I have read other articles by Van Heest, books too, and this is by far the very best, although the others were none too shabby. Great background information on the wrecks and fantastic descriptions of the discovery efforts. I recognized some of the names in the books. These men and women are fantastic adventurers and divers. Van Heest does a wonderful job drawing the reader into the adventures. So good to know that such fantastic divers and history buffs devote so much time and effort to locating and studying these most interesting Great Lakes shipwrecks. If this is one of your passions this book is for you. I had a hard time putting it down.
