The Art of DreamWorks Madagascar 3

The media could not be loaded. This is another good art book from Dreamworks and Insight Editions. I like this more than the first book The Art of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which is pretty good as well.Designs for the main characters are already in the first book so they aren't repeated here. What's included are designs for new animals they meet from the circus, the villains and the miscellaneous crowd. The character designs from Craig Kellman are quite funny. For the villains, they look like cartoons, as with their 3D models.Character designs are about one third of the book. The rest are concept art for locations, storyboards and props like trains, planes, automobiles, banana shooting machine guns, etc.The Zoosters are now trying to find their way back to New York, and they are traveling with the circus to places like Monte Carlo, Monaco, Rome, The Alps and finally back to New York. It's feels very different from the wilderness art of forest in Africa. Beautiful art from Ken Pak, Lindsey Olivares, Erwin Madrid, Goro Fujita, and other artists.I like that most of the art are printed quite big. Those printed across two pages are fantastic.Towards the end, there's an interesting section on the more technical aspects of making the film. It covers stuff like rigging, modeling, visual effects and matte painting.It's a great art book for the movie.(There are more pictures of the book on my blog. It’s a great companion book that details the behind the scenes of Madagascar 3

This is only the second Madagascar art book, but the last of an impressive series of "Art of" in my collections.Generally the art book from Dreamworks and Imageworks movies are the best.If this had printed gadget inserted (reproductions of props, signs, etc), like many of the Chronicle Books "Art of" book , it would be perfect.

As a designer. Dreamworks concept art is some of the best and most creative you I'll find.

I loved this book, the movie was great and I wanted to get a book on a movie in this franchise but the first and second were a little pricey but this was very good and looking at the art for the circus was amazing

Excelente adquisición. Compré este artículo en una super rebaja, pues el precio fue por menos de 250 pesos.En cuanto al contenido del libro puedo decir que viene muy completo. Pese a que no viene arte del desarrollo de los personajes principales (comprensible, ya que en la primer y segunda entrega se mostró bastante).Este libro tiene mucha información de el desarrollo de la película, viene mucho arte de las locaciones, varios props y elementos de la construcción de Madagascar 3. Algo que me pareció muy bueno fue la inclusión de un apartado para el Storyboard, ya que muchos libros de arte apenas y le dan una pasada a este apartado y yo considero de gran importancia que se muestre más a menudo un apartado completo para la base de el desarrollo de la historia.El material del libro es de muy buena calidad. Yo lo recomiendo bastante; además Amazon entregó el paquete a tiempo y muy bien cuidado el artículo.
