The History of Skagen Designs In 1987, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst came to the United States from their native Denmark to follow a dream: that of owning and running their own business. Skagen Designs was founded by these two natives of Copenhagen on the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. The Skagen Collection of watches reflects the Jorsts' creative Danish spirit with clean, elegant designs, skillful craftsmanship and technical perfection. When you purchase a piece from the Skagen Collection, you become part of an international community of Skagen owners who believe in a philosophy of design and manufacturing excellence. Skagen Trend Spotting In the market place, time never stands still and so our innovation never sits idle. Our design team is on the pulse of current fashions, with regular visits to design centers of the world including Denmark, Switzerland,Italy, France, New York and Hong Kong. We are never content to follow established trends. We stay true to our classic design philosophy and interpret trends accordingly. We observe, listen and innovate - all to create lasting design pieces. The Result The production of such lasting design pieces often demands special processes and tooling. These are often a challenge to create; however, we are never satisfied with "close enough". We continually push and fine-tune designs to stay true to our standards. We know what we want and are not satisfied until the design, material and workmanship are all just right. The result of such hard work and dedication speak for themselves in the jaw dropping enthusiasm and excitement created whenever anyone views our product line. Maintaining Your Skagen WatchEnsure that the crown is returned to the normal operating position before the watch comes in contact with water.Do not take your watch into a Hot Tub or Sauna. Under normal conditions, the seals in your Skagen watch will deteriorate and may need to be replaced every 2-3 years. Have your Skagen watch serviced by an official service center. All Skagen watches operate with standard batteries. When necessary, any jeweler can replace them for you. Different models are water resistant to varying degrees. Please refer to the back of your watch for the water resistant rating. How To Set The Time And Date Pull the crown out to the middle position. Rotate the crown to set date Pull the crown out to fully extended position and rotate crown to set desired time. Push the crown back to its normal position. The date and time are now set. Cleaning Your Skagen Watch Skagen suggests the following solutions for cleaning metal and crystal surfaces:3:1 solution of ammonia based window cleaner to water4:1 solution of rubbing alcohol to water.Do not use soap products. These suggested solutions will evaporate cleanly from metal and glass surfaces. Soap will leave residue behind when dry. To clean the case and crystal: Moisten a soft cloth with one of the above solutions. Gently wipe the case and crystal clean. Be careful not to put too much stress on the crystal as you clean. *NEVER immerse or soak the case/crystal portion of the watch, regardless of water resistance rating. Moisture could seep past the seals over time.To clean the band or strap: Skagen soft mesh bands are easily adjustable. Simply insert a small screwdriver or similar tool into the clasp. Lift up the clasp without applying pressure to the thin pin across the clasp and move to desired position. Snap closed securely. Make sure the clasp is set in one of the indentations on the back of the band. Link bands are completely adjustable anywhere watches are serviced. Skagen suggests the following practices for cleaning metal, rubber and leather surfaces: Metal watchbands Dip a cotton swab in the above solution, and gently rub it into the soiled portion of the band. For more intricate mesh bands, you may want to use a soft bristle toothbrush or nailbrush. Be sure to cover the case of the watch during this process so as not to soak it. For stubborn soil, you may want to bring it to a jeweler for a professional cleaning.Rubber watchstraps Simply wipe them down with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid soaps and solvents as they may dry or crack the plastic.Leather watchstraps: Top Grain Top grain leather can be characterized by its smooth, somewhat shiny appearance. To clean this type of leather, follow the same procedure as with the rubber watchband. Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth, using water only. You may want to use leather conditioner or a small amount of hand lotion to keep the leather supple over time. Top grain leather may develop a milky "haze" if left alone for extended periods. This can simply be wiped away or removed with leather conditioner.Leather watchstraps: Nubuck This is essentially full grain leather with the top layer shaved off, leaving a flat, smooth finish. A product called a "nubuck eraser" can be found at better shoe repair shops. It will help to remove most light stains and debris from nubuck. Strong in design and sleek in style, this titanium and steel timepiece is packed with unique functional features and signature details. A woven mesh bracelet seamlessly connects with a brown dial, making it the ultimate wear-everyday watch. BEHIND THE DESIGN: Durable and strong, this titanium and steel watch is the season's most essential accessory.

Watch is awesome
Saw this at the mall in Japan, checked on Amazon.com...purchased for less than half the cost! Very good looking watch, always been a Skagen fan, and I am impressed with what they fit into such a slim case. Looks great, very solid build, and light. Absolutely love it, great to wear dressing to the 9s. -AD

So impressed, I bought a third Skagen watch
Once again, a Skagen watch I love. I have "skinnier" wrists and don't like big bulky watch faces. These Skagen's have a nice sized face and are amazingly thin in profile. This is my third Skagen (wanted a different color to add to the mix) and love it. I get about two-three compliments per week on these watches. In a business setting they look sharp and professional (I'm in a shirt & tie, sleeves rolled up.) If you want to look like you came out of a GQ exclusive, this will do the trick.

Overall a Good, Sturdy Watch
I purchased this watch about a year ago and have worn it everyday since and it's held up very well especially considering the bumps I've given it working on my car and house. The band is still in great condition and doesn't come undone. It fits snuggly on small wrists. The case has a few small scratches but nothing deep enough to reveal the uncoated metal, and the lens is still completely unscratched. The only complaint I have about it is that the date adjustment is very finicky. It's a "two-stage" crown where if you pull it all the way out you can adjust the time, but if you pull it part way out you can adjust the date which you have to do after every non-31 day month. Sometimes it adjusts perfectly the first time, but sometimes I mess with it for 10 or 15 minutes and it doesn't even budge. That said, other than having to mess with the date once every couple of months, this is a great watch.

Very good watch, but band latch is ready failure point.
I really like the watch, but the latch is flimsy. I have had it two months now, and it seems the latch keeps coming undone more and more. It is a two part latch. First part hangs/grips onto ledge on the strap adjuster, and then second part is latch snapping into place on a "latch bar". It is the second part that seems to come loose at the slightest provocation. Sometimes, just my sleeve rubbing against it, causes it to come loose.I note there is no ready way to contact the seller or manufacturer, so I have been unable to find out if there is a fix available for the problem.Due to the continued failure mode and chance I will end up dropping and loosing the watch, I would NOT recommend anyone purchase one of these watches. I like it, but for the price, I expected a much more secure band.

Face Cracked for Unknown Reason
I bought this watch for my fiance. He loves it. The band is adjustable for a clean, comfortable fit. He has had it for one month. One problem, the watch face cracked for no reason. Honestly. We went from a restaurant and then a walk. We looked at the time together and both noticed a crescent shaped cut in the glass. We were confused because we both knew he didn't do anything crazy with it to cause it damage. We looked at the Amazon reviews to see if any other customers have had issues and some report the same occurrence. We'd like to get it replaced because we really love the watch but we are afraid that a new one will just crack as well.

Pretty while they last.
A heads up on the bands of these "titanium" watches... They're beautiful. However, as far as these watches go, beauty is only skin deep. I was fooled be the "titanium" description. I thought it was a mesh titanium band and titanium case. It's not. It's an anodized titanium finish. Microscopically thin. I rarely remove my watches. I'll swap them out if they don't match something I'm wearing, and leave it on until that one doesn't match something. You can't do that with these. They will NOT stand up to ANY sort of abuse. That mesh bracelet will catch on the edge of something eventually, and you'll have a tiny, stiff wire poking off of it. Soon, it'll be 5 tiny wires, and the band will look like carpet unraveling, with a divot in the side. It happened to both of mine, and I'm not that hard on my things. The finish will also wear off. They aren't expensive watches, so it's probably worth considering if you want one to wear occasionally. If you're like me, though, and don't like to worry whether your stuff is going to break under constant use, I'd probably choose something else. With the prices on Skagen watches doubling or sometimes tripling on Amazon since the beginning of 2014 (they were bought out by Fossil, who is ruining the brand and all of its designs), I can no longer recommend buying one at these silly prices. Skagen quality simply doesn't justify the price.

Stylish everyday analogue watch
This watch is attractively styled and suitable for everyday wear, although it is too fine for sports or outdoor pursuits. Those wanting to ride a motorbike off-road etc. should consider a G-Shock or similar. The lightness and distinctive colour of titanium are selling points, although it is unlikely to be solid metal at the asking price. The case is slim, which keeps it out of the way of cuffs, and the mesh strap is comfortable on the wrist, more so than a chunky stainless steel wristband. The only problem is that the clasp (while secure) makes the watch rather awkward to put on. Accuracy, compared against a radio-controlled clock, is excellent. The 24-hour indicator is an unusual feature. Lastly, the date indicator is a bit too small to read at a glance.
