Gamma Pathfinder Awl, Red/Black

Simply a necessary piece of equipment when stringing tennis racquets. May not use often, but invaluable for getting strings through occupied holes when nothing else works.

I string rackets for myself and a few of my friends. I have used this while stringing about 10 rackets now, I do not have too many complaints about it. It has worked as it advertised with no problems. It has met my expectations.

I was stringing a babolat pure drive + this morning and I used this awl to bypass the string blocking the grommet, pushed inside the grommet then pulled the center point back and inserted my string and pulled the awl back out. Worked perfectly. Just don't use this tool if the string is sharing a grommet. String might get cut. It happened to me previously.

Opened a brand new pathfinder awl only to find it break after two uses and has no use now as it’s not able to push up and down. Terribly designed product.

I bought a tennis string machine that included Gamma guiding Awl. After stringing 6 racquets, The plastic handle separated from steel rod of Gamma guiding awl then the tool became useless. I saw a price $25 for an unreliable product. Any one knows any other similar product out there that is more reliable and uses better material.ThanksAn

I purchased mine as an add on to simplify accessing partially blocked grommet holes. When I tested its fit on an unblocked hole it wouldn't extract and ended up destroying the grommet. I had to damage the pathfinder to extract it.

I get it with my Gamma stringing machine. When I used it for the first time it deformed and broke .Because it is not made from steel. It can bend but not reshape. The connection of the awl guide and red part of item is not successful. Awl guide separated from the body and it is free now...Awful product. Gamma have to develop this item.I suggest to them steel metal part and stronger plastic.
