A lovely book with likable characters!
Bookstagram has changed my life! :) Sarah M Eden is now one of my favorite authors and I have been devouring all of her books that I can get my hands on. Courting Miss Lancaster is the second book in Sarah M Eden’s Lancaster family series. Harry Windower fell in love with blonde, green -eyed Athena Lancaster but as a penniless man he has no hope of winning her heart. To make matters worse, Athena’s brother-in- law, the Duke of Kielder, has asked Harry to help Athena find the man of her dreams. As a way to help Athena, Harry devises a plan to introduce Atehan to awful men to show her what she doesn't want in a husband. Athena can’t figure out why she can’t find the love of her life, all of the men she doesn't meet her expectations. But Harry is someone she can depend on, however, when Athena learns of Harry’s plans will she still see Harry as a friend? Will Athena and Harry ever be able to build a relationship together? I loved Harry! He was a great friend to Adam, and I was super excited to read about his happy ending. He deserved to find his own true love. I loved how he cared for Adam, and he really supported him. He was trying to be a good friend, but he also had feelings for Athena, and he was struggling to figure out what to do. I just really liked Harry as a character. He was super sweet. It was fun to see things from Athena’s perspective. She was living with Adam and Pershone, and she had such a different view on things. She wanted to find her happy ending, but looking for a husband was harder than she thought. No one was her perfect match, but she could find solace in Harry. There were times when I was a little upset with Athena because she didn’t realize how much Harry loved her. But I also knew that Harry tried to hide his feelings. I liked reading about Harry and Athena’s relationship. Harry was trying his best to show Athena the kind of man that she wouldn't want to marry and at the same time hid his feelings from her. Athena was just trying to find a man who loved her, but as she lived through her Season she began to see that no one matched her list. I think that Harry really made the book for me, but I also liked Athena. Athena and Harry were super cute, but it was also fun to see old characters. Persephone and Adam were just lovely. I really like Adam, and I loved his relationship with Harry. The characters were relatable, and I connected with them. I also felt like the story was fun and nothing felt rushed or stilted. Courting Miss Lancaster was a lovely book! It was a clean, historical romance and I would definitely recommend it! I think that technically it can be read as a standalone, but it is much more enjoyable to read the book in order.

Enjoyed this Sweet Story!
This sweet Regency read was fun to listen to. I really enjoyed Seeking Persephone, so it was fun to see Adam and Persephone appear in this novel, as well.I really felt for Harry and how he loved Athena, yet felt he could never offer for her because of his reduced means. Yet, he was such a support and constant in her life, being so much more to her than she even realized until it seemed it might be too late! There were some humorous moments in the story, as well as some that were serious and tugged at my heart. I really liked the way the author wrapped everything up for their happily ever after. It was very sweet.

A TRUE LOVE STORY
AN ABSOLUTE LOVE STORYHarry is poor. His best friend Adam is a duke. And he is a very wealthy duke. They have been friends since Harrow.Adam, in spite of the appearance of being a bully, has taken responsibility for his wife, Persephone’s family. In spite of his grumpy persona, Adam loves each member of his new family. The new responsibilities include presenting his sister-in-law, Athena to society. Since Adam does not feel comfortable being social, he has asked Harry to take over the job of controlling the presentation of suitors. Harry has been in love with Athena since their first meeting. Harry’s plan is to introduce gentlemen who would not suit at all. He wants Athena to be happy but he wants her to realize there are qualities which will not be attractive in a future husband. This is a very well written story. Ms Eden has created sexual attraction and tension without including anything more than holding hands. The plot is easy to follow from scene to scene and each event makes the reader anticipate the next event.Harry, Athena, Adam and Persephone are witty and humorous human beings. Their conversations present ideas and observations that are both entertaining and informative. And as the book progresses, we see each of them as well rounded and complete in their humanity.I love the humor of the story. It is evident that Adam’s bark is much worse than his bite. He is as important a character in the story as Harry and Athena. The secondary characters are wonderful in helping to create an atmosphere. Each new suitor has a superficial trait that Athena listed as important. But, we learn that an exaggerated character trait can make all the difference.I truly enjoyed the fact that this is such a tender story. There are no heaving bosoms, but a great amount of kindness and affection. If you enjoy a true love story that includes people who care very deeply for one another, this is a book you will love. There are many pictures of love in the story and each of them is enchanting. Enjoy the journey.

Good read...shame I won't read rest of sies as far too expensive
I loved this book which I got when free and had not read the first. In the series but got the gist of he character setup but would have been better to have read the first book I think to truly understand all the secondary character and I loved the duke and Persephone also. But now the book is to be paid or I. Can't believe the cost and have had to include that fact in this review as although this was a great read I can't believe the publishers are asking for over £8 for this and the first book which I would never pay. I have read some astounding books and top authors books who haven't charged this much. In today's economy I would be surprised anyone could afford this for just one (not particularly long) book. I will keep my eye on the first book and hopefully should the price reduce buy it.

Absolutely delightful!
What a delightfully sweet and humorous tale this was! The whole premise of the story was entertaining: poor penniless Harry, in love with the beautiful Athena, but forced by his best friend (Athena's guardian) into being a "suitor sorter" for her. Sarah Eden's descriptions of the men that Harry sends Athena's way were so witty and you wondered what kind of a man was going to appear next! All the characters in the book were succinctly well drawn and I have to confess that I fell in love with Harry - what a lovely man :)I can highly recommend Courting Miss Lancaster if you like sweet romances that aren't too serious. I shall be looking out for other books by Sarah Eden.

Sweet romance with some humour
Like this authors stories. She usually is accurate in relation to historical facts and Regency social mores but occasionally makes errors in her books like mentioning raccoons which have only now found their way to some parts of mainland Europe. This book follows on from Finding Persephone and includes many of the characters first introduced in that novel. The H&H are likeable, the romance slowly develops which is my preference and the supporting characters are well drawn. There is no great drama or intrigue, but much to please. Shame about the price rise though, the book was much cheaper when I bought it.

Amusing and moving
When the Duke of Kielder asks his friend Harry to serve as suitor sorter for his sister-in-law and ward, he is adamant that fortune hunters be avoided. Harry believes he definitely has no chance with Miss Lancaster as his income is too small and his estate in too great disrepair. Harry tries to make the best of the situation and wants to assure Miss Lancaster will at least be happy, even if it breaks his heart. The reader's heart also bleeds for Harry. There is also much humor in the snappy dialogue, especially the somewhat black humor between Harry and his friend the duke.

A pleasant surprise
My recent experiences with regency romance novels were none too good, almost nobody seems to be able to write the form well these days. However, Courting Miss Lancaster was very entertaining and well-paced, I enjoyed it and can only recommend it to other lovers of the genre. I particularly liked the hero, Harry, and the heroine Athena also grew on me in the course of the book. Well done.
