So I set this thing up on my coffee table in my living room at a 0° angle. I plugged it in and the sound started automatically. A few of the sounds actually aren’t too bad, but they seem to be at slightly different volumes for each, but you can adjust that. Also, some are on pretty short, noticeable loops which is annoying. The ocean and seagull sound is excruciating by the way, And it is on a 6 second loop. No chance you are falling asleep with that on. The cord that is provided for auxiliary sound will not work with newer iPhones. It’s one of those old headphone jack cords.The brightness is good and the colors and waves are nice. However, when I started with a 0° tilt angle, the motion was very jerky and I thought I would just return it because of that. Was not smooth and soothing. But when I changed the angle slightly, it smoothed out and now works fine. Changing the angle is a little bit scary, because it feels like you are going to snap the thing in half.It has seven different color/wave settings, six of them are really nice, and the seventh one is torturously flashing. Maybe great for a techno party. I wish there was a setting for plain red, but there isn’t. Only plain blue or green. I also wish there was a blue/green. The only two color combination is blue/red which is beautiful. The 3 mixed colors are all pretty cool and go in different patterns. There is a beeping sound as you move between the seven wave settings. You can turn that off by turning down the volume button all the way. Also, you can either have the wave motion, or on some settings you can have the waves still (pause button). Also, when you hit the pause button on some of the other wave settings, it turns it into like a slideshow. Pretty fun to play with. There doesn’t seem to be a way to adjust the brightness at all. It doesn’t matter because it seems the brightness is right on in a dark room. From my coffee table height, it seems to cover about a 15 ft.² ceiling completely.The remote seems to be responsive and you don’t really have to point it at the unit. The remote even works from about 20 feet away at least. Two AAA batteries not included. There are some control buttons on the unit as well.There is a noticeable humming sound that comes from the motion of the lights in the unit. Some of the wave settings are a little louder than others. So far it’s not a dealbreaker. It’s pretty quiet. I’m guessing it’s going to get worse over time, though. Some of those humming sounds are actually kind of soothing in a weird way. Some are only slightly annoying.Overall, this is pretty much what I wanted and expected. Great toy for $20. Five stars because of the price. We will see how long it lasts!

Bought this for my massage practice. The light itself is awesome, clients love it. The sounds that it comes with suck, they all have birds and don't loop well - would never use. The settings are rainbow (pictured) - color changing (which loops through primary colors) - blue - green - and a sort of flashy color change. The cord it comes with is cheap and short - broke after a few uses. I'd recommend buying a longer USB separately for ease of use and longevity. Kinda light and cheap, be careful if you're carrying it around or putting it into a backpack or bag for mobile/packing up. Overall, cool little light! I am upgrading to the more expensive version.

I got this to make my background/ceiling pretty for when I do video calls and streams, and it certainly does, especially when paired with LED strip lights to help blend the lighting since it doesn’t cover a large area. If I have it away from the wall, it covers most of it dimly, and then around 10x10’ish area on the ceiling. Closer to the wall you get much less but is also less of a tripping hazard.Not really able to use for nighttime relaxing/nightlight since it’s very loud! It makes a whirring noise as it rotates the lights to create the watery pattern and it’s not really “white noise-esque”. You can plug in music to use it as a speaker, but it’s not convenient to do so. Just four different lighting options with one being a mix of all three which is mostly yellowy green with a little bit of blue and specks of red. I wish the base was adjustable so the light could be pointed at certain angles. Otherwise it works really well and the remote works splendidly—I just wish it wasn’t so noisy.
