Best Buy
I just downloaded the trial version and am totally impressed by the ease of use and quality of the Lightscribe labeling. This is the most intuitive software I've used in a long time. Have not tried standard stick on labels yet, but will give it a try soon. I'm sold.

beware-the installer overwrites your font files
I don't think the user interface is very good on this product, but one thing really irked me. When you install the product it overwrites your Windows system font files without asking you. And this is verison 3 of the product! We use Garamond in our label and the True Type Font it overwrote was much better. We had to recover the original font from another system. This happened on both Windows98 and Windows XP Professional. Unfortunately, I verified this was the culprit for sure the second time around. Hopefully, this will save you some grief.

Not so fast......
This product does indeed make very nice CD labels. But there are several annoying aspects of it, things that I cannot do easily that I could do with my (otherwise dreadful) label tool in my old Adaptec CD burner software.I won't list them here...just to say, I think it works very well for labels, not as well for jewel cases. Some things that should be there, just aren't!Also, for me at least, there was a real learning curve. I made jillions of jewel cases with my old Adaptec, and there were certain things I just expect to be able to do (one example--there is no way to get track length from the CD if the data is not burned in..I have to manually have a CD player open and read and then type the track length). Why it can't say:Make a label for CD in drive D?There are 20 tracks...here's the length of each, and let me enter the data.I don't see ways to change their default settings either, and I wish they were different.I am not unhappy with the product; but I am certainly not wildly enthusiastic either.

Professional software at a shareware price
If you burn CDs, I can't recommend this software enough. The user interface is superb and professional. I was able to create my own CD labels with this app without ever reading the documentation; it's that intuitive and easy to use. When you register online, you're given the opportunity to buy CD label supplies from them too. Go for it. Not only are their supplies cheap, but they work seamlessly with this application. Creating your own CD labels is painless with this program. The software's publisher isn't charging enough for this app, in my opinion.

This software is still available in 2015 and still works well
I bought this is 2015. Even though Amazon says they no longer sell it, I saw a review on it that was good, so I searched for it on Google and found the company web site. I purchased it through that and I am using it today. In order to actually write on CD disks themselves, I had to research printers that could do that. I found an inkjet printer from Canon that does it. There aren't too many printers that can print on CD's, and the reason why is because you need to have a special "template", i.e. a special plastic insert, in which the CD is placed, and then that insert (i.e. tray-like thing) is placed into the printer's paper tray area. This is necessary so that the printer software can accurately know where the CD is in relation to the printer's heads. Whew. Well, this Software was able to work with it and I've got fairly impressive labels.I will warn you that I've had some problems with the SureThing web site. It doesn't always work right. Hmm... Makes me wonder if they're basically out of business? I don't know.I wanted to buy CD jewel case insert labels from them but couldn't complete the order online due to web site problems. A couple days later, after my email message to them, supposedly everything is up and running. But he shipping charges are so high. Blah. But this software works for me. Thank you.

not bad
This software is ok for designing labels. Personally, NEATO's MediaFACE 4 is much more powerful. The Design Wizard is awesome. With NEATO's software (www neato com), I was able to create a label for my audio cds without typing in the song names. It automatically recognized the songs (needs to be able to connect to internet).

Incomparable!
The newest version of SureThing's CD Labeler (V 3.0) is by far the best labeling software to date. With such advanced features as a Playlist Manager to help you manage your music collection, SmartDesigns templates, and CD-Text reading, MicroVision has certainly outdone themselves. The CD text reading is my favorite feature because if your burner supports CD text writing the tracks can be recognized and inserted into the label. Also, the deluxe version comes with hundreds of fantastic backgrounds as well as the ability to easily use your own backgrounds. Almost everything about this application is customizable from the startup options, toolbars, to the visual style of the label design area. In addition to all of this, SureThing CD Labeler 3.0 is compatible with many of the most popular types of labels. The kit even comes with a sample of SureThing's glossy full-faced CD labels which allows more of your background to be seen. If you want to create professional looking labels this program is a necessity.

Surething
After spending hours with Memorex and Neato softwares without success, I found a "Sure Thing" on the net. I downloaded the 15-day trial version and after spending a mere few minutes to create my label, decided to purchase the Deluxe version. This is a software I didn't mind spending the money for. It's extremely user-friendly and very easy to create labels if you're a novice or an advanced user. I loved the templates and the background options. I am looking forward to creating my next label. In fact, because of it's so easy to use, I will be making CDs just because.... This is a must have for any and everyone.
