CompoKeeper Kitchen Compost Bin, Black, 6 gallon

We loved this so much but the insides have all fallen apart and we have been unable to fix them. The bags would slip also and make a smelly mess.

SAVE your money! Loved the idea of this, but it's total junk. Idea is to be convenient in the kitchen while cooking, but this thing never works... 95% of the time you open it with your foot, the charcoal filter slot falls wide open, and the filer falls into your compost. So instead of being hands free, you have to assemble it back together and stop what you're doing. The hinge for the main latch is also atrocious and falls off every 6th time... stay away

Disappointing. I found the internals to be flimsy. The filter won't stay closed, so I taped it shut, The bag holder does not work so the bag won't stay connected. This makes adding compost to the bag very difficult.

This is the second one we have purchased and used for our 2 dogs. They last about 3/years with much less than normal usage. We use this, rather than a normal trash can, to retain any smell and it does nicely.

I’d give it less than 1 if so could. Just got a package that was clearly already used, broken and came with its garbage included!In addition this is my third attempt at this bin which breaks incredibly easy and then become unusable.All round very disappointing.

I love this! It is convenient and I can toss my fruit and veggie scraps right into my garden! Great purchase.

The carbon filter compartment doesn't close on my new bin. Disappointed.

I love that it holds so much, and for a while, it looked great in the kitchen. However, it soon starting coming apart. We kept trying to fix it, adding nuts and bolts, screws, finally disabling the useless pedals, and in the end, just using it as a container with a lid and lifting the bag out to empty it into our large outdoor composter. There were always tons of fruit fly eggs inside, since the filter would not stay on. However, we coped. Last time we emptied it, the lid broke completely off, so now we are trying everywhere just to find a simple and decent container with a tight fitting lid with a hinge, that will hold 5 or 6 gallons. Counter top containers holding a1.3 gallon would have to be emptied at least once a day in our household, since we also put paper towels in with food scraps. For the amount we paid, about $100.00, they should have provided a device with metal fittings, not cheap plastic. I can't believe anyone is still selling these.

I purchased this product and the lid was warped so the charcoal filter will not stay in. The metal piece that opens and closes the lid keeps popping out so you have to use your hands to open it anyway. Also the teeth that are supposed to close the bag when the lid closes arrived broken so it doesn't really close. We have contacted the company twice now to get a replacement but we haven't heard back. I liked the idea of the product but cannot recommend at this point.
