Tineco Moda One Smart Ionic Hair Dryer, 1400W with Diffuser Concentrator Attachments for All Hair Types-Mocha

As a professional hairstylist, I can say I appreciate the attention to detail that Tineco applied to this hair dryer. I will probably keep this one for myself at home and continue using my dyson in the salon, and the only reason for that is the dyson has a professional version of their hair dryer that better fits my needs in the salon. The Moda One is a fast dryer and makes the hair super soft and shiny. I love how intuitive it is in terms of sensing moisture in the hair and adjusting the heat so it can prevent damage. All in all a great product and would recommend.

I am absolutely in love with it! The best blow dryer I have ever used!! My favorite mode is pet mode because now my dogs aren’t scared of a blow dryer! The best feature though is the moisture sensors, they work amazing! Will definitely recommend this to family and friends!

This hairdryer was fine for the two years and 3 months, until it stopped heating one day. I used this hairdryer twice a week for 2 years and 3 months, that would mean approximately 100 uses. $300 for this hairdryer and you would think it would last longer. I spoke to customer service and they are stating that I am out of warranty. I complained and was advised that someone else with Tineco would contact me. If they do, I will update this review.*Update 10/23/23Tineco is not standing behind their product. They will not replace nor troubleshoot the hairdryer. They simply stated the product is not repairable and is 3 months out of warranty. I FULLY believe their product was made to just outlast the warranty so that you have to buy a new product. Deceitful business practices and awful customer service. I 100% do not ever recommend buying one of their products.

I am now convinced that high-end hairdryers really can make a difference! My hair is healthier, shinier, and I have cut my drying time in ½. The only thing I am doing differently with my haircare routine is using the MODA ONE hairdryer. It is quiet, smart and stylish; it adjusts heat and airflow automatically to avoid hair damage and it gives me a signal (a colored sensor) when my hair is dry. Great product!

I bought this very pricey hair dryer after having tried—and returned—the similarly pricey Dyson dryer. And I have the same problem with this one I had with that one: the diffuser is terrible in exactly the same way. And since both dryers use magnetic attachments, you can’t buy a better diffuser for them. In the picture attached to this review, the Tineco diffuser is on the right, and my old diffuser on the left. The old diffuser works well: it has a deep bowl shape to capture the hair, coil it into curls, and keep if from blowing around. When you scrunch your hair up close to the scalp in the old diffuser, the openings at base and at the tips of the long “fingers” blow air out at the roots and “pin” it against the bowl for volume without frizz/flyaways, and the length of the “neck” keeps the heat on your scalp down to a manageable level. The Tineco diffuser instead has a shallow dish shape, no extended “neck”, and no openings at the tips of the fingers—instead there are large openings on the sides of the fingers. The upshot is when I tried to use it, I ended up with a head of wild frizz, not curls. And the heat on my scalp quickly became uncomfortable. I’ll grant that different tools can require different techniques, so I’ll try again a few times and see if I can figure out a way to make it work for me. But I doubt it.Apart from the diffuser, it seems to work fine, so if you don’t use one this dryer may work for you.

this product will completely change the way you dry your hair. Not only does it dry hair extremely quick but it leaves it shiny and not frizzy at all!

I was apprehensive to purchase but it actually works well.

This is a great hair dryer with some wonderful features…but it did not work for me. The automatic sensor mode is amazing, but in order to use some of the other modes, including manual, you need to be able to download their app and connect with WiFi. For some reason, I was unable to do so. I contacted Tineco several times and they were responsive and offered suggestions, but ultimately I could not get it to connect so I could not use some of the important features. I returned it.

I have posted a video comparing it against the top-rated brand name competitor, please have a check if interested. After one whole month of use, below is what I think about this product.Pros:1) It provides a very powerful blowing. As a 1400 Watts hair dryer, I think the air it blows out is even stronger than the 1800W one I currently use. In the video posted, I used a towel as a reference object for testing. Even when it is comparing to the top brand-name competitor, it appears to be a slightly stronger output. The daily use result proves that it does make our hair drying quicker, especially for my fiancée, who has very long hair.2) Thanks to its smart humidity sensor, the heat level is automatically adjusted by the dryer itself. The problem that bothers lots of people is that the conventional hair dryer could heat the hair too much, which makes the hair dry and fragile. This hair dryer does resolve the issue. Both my fiancée and I have noticed the change (that our hair is healthier) after we used it. This is the first time I have seen a hairdryer this smart! A big thumb-up for the great innovation by the manufacturer!3) The Moda One hairdryer has a wifi 2.4G wifi module integrated, which enables a comprehensive combination for hair drying via the smart device. Yes, the designer does want to make hair drying a science. LOL. In the App, the user has 6 drying modes to choose from, plus capabilities to change 3 levels of heating/blowing setting. There are even modes for pets and kids/babies, which aim for the best protection for the loved ones – a very thoughtful feature! Users of the hairdryer can also manually adjust the heating/blowing level when there is no wifi.4) Design of the hairdryer is very modernish, with 3 magnetic heads for various styling purposes (styling concentrator, smoothing nozzle, and diffuser). The weight of the hairdryer (without considering the power cable) is about 486 grams (slightly over 1 lb), which is quite similar to its brand-name major competitor at 468 grams. One thing that shall be noticed is that the competitor has a power adapter on the cable, which weighs about 200 grams. The built quality of Moda One hairdryer is great.5) Other great features include this is an ionic hair dryer that shoots negative ion airflow, which can significantly improve hair frizz, or effectively make the thick hair have a sleeker and more polished looking. The LED ring indicator at the back of the hairdryer can change to a blue/red color to tell the output temperature, which is quite fancy.6) Safety plug with the test/reset button is a great bonus with this hairdryer, which is rarely seen on the competitor's products.7) The hairdryer is very quiet.Cons:1) Pricey. Needless to say much about it. Just by check the MSRP price on the product page, it is one great (maybe the most important) factor for the consumer to consider. I highly suggest waiting for the sale when buying the product. I have no doubt Moda One's benchmarking the top branded competitor on market, but it is wise to create a little advantage in terms of pricing.2) Not integrated with Bluetooth connectivity. As I mention in the pro section, I think it is a remarkable invention to have this hair dryer wifi enable. However, what if there is no wifi? The App becomes useless without wifi connected to the hairdryer. Almost every smart device has a Bluetooth module nowadays, so the designer of the product shall have to prioritize Bluetooth over Wifi.3) Mobility. Don't get me wrong, the hairdryer is very lightweight. It is still a little bulky if it is to be carried along for a vacation, mainly because it is not foldable. With the price paid, I would at least expect a small carrying bag to store the hairdryer and its accessories. However, considered its major competitor also needs improvement in this area, I won't complain too much about it.At the end of the story, I asked myself a couple of questions about this purchase: 1) Am I happy with the product? Definitely, very much! I love my wonderful Moda One hairdryer. Its fancy design and various smart, healthy, and baby/pet friendly features make hair drying a fun to have. 2) Is there room for improvement for this hairdryer? Yes, there are a few areas to make it an even more competitive game-changer on market, so I do look forward to seeing the manufacturer announce newly improved products, which more justifies the price.

I like to use something new and smart technology stuff. This smart hair dryer is a perfect fit for me. I bought this hair dryer almost a month ago. It works well. I like the app control and the smart drying function of this dryer. Most of the hair dryer U will easily get burn or over dry your hair, but this hair dryer u won’t have any of the issue anymore. It has a ring of light at the back of the dryer. When it’s red light, it mean your hair is still wet, if it’s blue light it means your hair is dry. So it will keep the hair healthier and won’t get a burn.And the Tinceo app is a very helpful function for my 10-years-old daughter. I just have to open the app on my phone and set it to kids mode. So my daughter can blow her hair by herself sometimes while I’m busy. It’s easy to use and powerful. It takes much less time to dry my daughter's hair. She has a long and thick hair. Overall, I was so pleasantly surprised for this hair dryer; it is working quick and effective and It’s also feels very high quality, the price it’s not cheap it’s cost $400 (I bought it $100 off when it’s on sale). But it’s worth it for the price even not on sale. My family is very satisfied with this product. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded.  I’d been unable to find a reliable diffuser when my friend recommended this professional Hair Dryer because of its reasonable price and efficiency. My hair dries faster than with any blow dryer I have used in the past and my hair looks better. It's lightweight and quiet, yet powerful. Worth the price.

Love this product. 1 it works great on my hair and doesn’t damage them. I have thin fine hair and with mèches! So chemically treated.2 It’s a CANADIAN product!3 a lot less costly than Dyson!!!

Wasn’t sure what to expect with this dryer which makes some pretty big claims. Ionic Blower Dryer with Smart Sensor Technology that automatically adjusts the heat and airflow based on real-time drying feedback via two sensors in the head (one for proximity and one for humidity) and all communicated via a colored ring LED light. I was skeptical, however, after using it for several months I can honestly say that I like it much better than my other high-end hairdryer. I’m not sure how smart it is, but it does modulate the airflow and heat based on how close it is to my head and does appear to have a sense of what is wet and what isn’t. The end result, is that I can let it adjust these two settings as it chooses and it never burns my hair. It also handles better than my other dryer. It weighs more, but it’s balanced better and makes it easier to use without the long nozzle. As for settings/buttons, it only has three – On/Off, Auto/max and cool that are adjustable on the unit, but you can use the app for further adjustments and custom drying modes. I was initially concerned that it didn’t have a high/medium/low heat or high/low fan adjustment switch on the actual dryer, and I didn’t think using an app to adjust these settings would be convenient. However, after using it for a couple days I realized that the “auto” setting worked really well. It adjusts the heat and fan speed, and allows me better control and focus over my styling. I know it sounds a little counter intuitive – less control is more, but it works, and I don’t have to worry or think about the heat or fan speed.The unboxing experience was good, and it comes with three magnetic styling attachments - a diffuser and two different size concentrators. They affix securely, and I haven’t had any issues with them accidentally detaching. The power cord is 8.8 ft long, high quality, power cord with a GFCI end plug.
