Massive screen; not heavy; fast AMD Ryzen; fingerprint unlock; tons of storage.Love it.

I don't know what has happened to this laptop before I have received it but it certainly doesn't seem like a Ryzen 7 processor. Aesthetically it is in perfect condition however, my 7-year-old Mac (which has out of date OS etc.) works faster than this laptop. It is lagging writing this message even though there is nothing else running in the background. In fact, I know multiple other people who have purchased the Ryzen 5 version of this laptop and it works great, mine is slower than their's and struggles with every little task. I don't think this is a fair judgement of the laptop and I intend to repurchase it, but not from amazon. Save yourself the trouble and buy it elsewhere, it's not worth saving the £10-20 for the hassle I have had to go through. Also, the fan can be quite loud as all of the fans seem to be on the bottom and this means it struggles to keep cool if it's on your lap. It also doesn't have a backlit keyboard which isn't a deal-breaker but would have been nice.

I am using this laptop mostly for work and I am working with large data volumes. This is why, AMD 8 core Ryzen 7 4700U is shines and outperform Intel.With memory upgrade (8gb or 16gb stick), easy 5 minutes job – you need the screwdriver and plastic tool to open equipment (you can use any thin strong plastic instead.Performance on office tasks is outstanding. Windows 10 and MS Office is responsive even without memory upgrade (with 8Gb).Data processing with memory upgrade is reasonably quick the same as desktop station.GPU is onboard Radeon, which used shared memory up to 9Gb in my case (so memory upgrade is essential is you works with graphics, video editing and gaming).Video playback is very good. IPS screen is looking very good with great black colour and good viewing angles. Nice for work with crispy HD and for watching videos from Youtube. Not sure about colour calibration I have no equipment for it but it is adjustable is need it.Games. I tried Fallout 4 on High – works great especially after memory upgrade to 20GB.There are some disadvantages:1) There is no backlight on the keyboard2) Onboard memory is 4Gb and one 4Gb stick, you can add up to 16Gb stick with fast 3200 Mhz memory which gives you up to 20Gb (not 24Gb as mentioned)3) Wifi is ac not ax but it does has ethernet cable socket – so of you need fast network use cable.Verdict. Very good desktop replacement. Light. Portable. Powerful. Not for gaming but will handle most of the games with High or Medium settings. It is budget oriented solution and it does not look as overhyped brands. So it is good but not excellent. I removed one star because of the misleading descriptions.

Good quality well built laptop. Very fast and does what I need it to do

Tue computer is good. Thee are just a few things. There is no backlight keyboard as described by Acer's marketing team. It's something I really wanted. Performance is great. It would be nice to offer the 16 thread version. I would have paid move for that. On the positive ram is upgradable so the notebook will have a longer life.The notebook feels quite cheep I had an old Dell Vostro 3650 befor this and it has a magnisuim frame so feels a bit flimsy.Battery life is insane with 11 hours. Very impressed. I will look at getting a WiFi 6 card upgrade if possible.

BEWARE Sold as new but Second hand

Beware. The blurb here states (twice) that it uses WiFi 6. I bought a new router specially to take advantage of this. A sticker on the front of the laptop states that it supports 802.11ac and this is confirmed in Device Manager. This is WiFi 5 only ....what you need for WiFi 6 is 802.11ax. Many people probably wouldn’t even notice!
