Nice light duty tent
This is a nice tent, but it's not heavy duty. I was hoping for a very sturdy, heavy duty tent with thick canvas - this doesn't fit the bill. I've put it up twice now, once to test it and check it all out after it arrived, and then a second time at the actual event I bought the tent for. There's already a few small tears here and there and I have been incredibly careful with it. The rings in the fabric where you attach the ties are starting to tear out in a few places. The poles are not super thick and bend easily, the canvas is just too thin to really last a long time. The anchoring system is useless, you'll want to buy some heavy duty auger style anchors and straps to really tie it down good. Even a slight breeze will bring this tent down otherwise. I estimate I'll get between 5 and 10 uses out of this tent before I have to replace it.I do like the tent. It's beautiful and relatively easy to setup. I just wish it was actually heavy duty - and I'd have been willing to pay twice as much for thick steel poles and a thick, long lasting canvas top, but I couldn't find anything like that available. Oh well. It will work for now.

Fantastic tent! extremely quick construction and held up to the punishment
I purchased this tent as a replacement to a home-made geodesic dome structure we previously had for a bar at regional burning man events. The reason I chose this was to decrease the construction time by removing the need for tools, ladders, replacement parts (lost nuts/bolts/washers) and to provide a water tight covering that could stand up to mild and moderate winds. Our previous installation took about 6-8 hours to construct with a minimum of 6 people, though you really needed 8-10.This structure took approximately 20 minutes to construct the first time out of the box with 10-15 people. The second time we constructed it onsite with 4 people and it took us 20 minutes to get all the poles and primary covering up. It was fantastically easy. I think that technically you could put this up with two people in a half hour if you had a fair amount of practice. There is only one part that we consistently messed up in construction of this, and this was resolved by putting a small color coded piece of tape on the joined bracket ( the two brackets look almost identical, but their angle is slightly off and will cause issues if they're installed backwards). As for durability, the material for the top primary shelter was excellent, it withstood rain, shine, and wind quite well. It stayed dry inside, without a drop leaking in during a relatively strong downpour. During the day, we just rolled up the sides and tucked them into the top and it let a good breeze in and was reasonable to stay inside of during the heat. The only complaint I would have is that there are no vents in the top so the heat tends to sit. We resolved this by installing some box fans with zip ties to the overhead framework. The poles themselves are not load bearing in any way. I would not consider this structure if you have to hang anything from it. The slightest pull will probably bend a pole out of alignment. The canvas top is actually what holds the structure stable. I found that using flat bed ratchet tie downs and rebar along the exterior points worked very well, were quite visibile at night, and did not require you to tie them off as they hooked directly into the grommets. As for the walls, they are slightly cheaper material than the top canvas. They tend to wrinkle quite easily and look bad. Also they sweat at night in high humidity, leaving the windows fogged up. Curtains hung from the center poles along the legs tended to make the walls look a bit cleaner and more professional. The walls did however server their purpose well since they kept the weather out and kept the interior quite warm. We had this up in 40-50F degree weather and it was warm enough inside to sit around in shorts and a tshirt, whereas it was quite chilly as soon as you left the structure.I would say that with the ease of construction, convertibility for day and nighttime use and cost, this tent can't be beat. The only cons I can see is that it would not hold up to extremely high winds ( so not good on the playa ), and it does not have any load bearing components. With 620 square feet of space, this tent is easily giving you what you would normally pay upwards of $2500 for. It's a fantastic deal. Get one, you'll be happy you did.Oh, and we actually did hold a wedding in this, it worked perfectly for this too.

Good Value Tent - buy an additional anchor system
I was pleasantly surprised and found this tent to be a very good value. The poor reviews and images of twisted/bent poles had me worried but we had no issues at all. We purchased this tent for our daughter’s birthday party of 35 people. With the walls up we comfortably fit – 33 folding chairs, three round 7 foot tables, two 8 foot rectangular tables for food/cake and one 4 foot gift table. Without the walls up I could see this fitting a larger group but no more than 50 if using round tables. We also heated the tent with space heaters and that worked well for our fall party. When the tent arrived we carefully inventoried all parts for damage. Some very minor scratches but nothing came dented or dirty. The poles are white coated aluminum, not steel so set your expectations correctly. If you purchase this tent it is ESSENTIAL that you also purchase the Shade Tree Anchor Kit for Heavy Duty Tents from the Rolling Hills Trading, Inc. The anchors that come with the tent are grossly insufficient – the Rolling Hills kit comes with 15’ nylon ratchet straps and 16” high strength steel spiral anchor stakes. In my opinion this strap down system is the “insurance policy” on your tent. During set up we had winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 17 mph and this anchor kit held the tent securely. Luckily the winds died down to 5 mph for our party. If you live in a windy area with winds 10-15 mph+ I wouldn’t recommend this tent because you risk the canvas top tearing or frame twisting. As far as set up goes, the more people you have to help, the better it will go. 1-2 people can do it but I recommend a minimum of 4 and 6 is even better (especially when you go to raise the top off the ground and put in the support posts). If you don't have enough people the frame will sag, bend and twist. On =one hand it is nice that this tent breaks down into small parts for storage, on the other hand this creates many small pieces to assemble. I appreciated the storage bags but agree with others that the bag straps are weak and you need to carry them from the bottom.Overall we were very pleased with this tent and the anchor system we purchased to secure it. If you’re having a 1 day event, with 30-50 people and are expecting fair-good weather in a moderately low wind area this tent would be a great choice.
