The Judge: An Untrue Tale (Sunburst Book) Paperback – April 1, 1988

The judge won't believe the people trying to warn him and throws them all in jail, after a verbal trouncing (old timey words here like ninnyhammer, no problem if your child repeats it). Each person brought before the judge repeats the warning rhyme and then adds to it- the kids catch on and will chant it along with you, making it even more fun to read with them. The pictures are a delight, the ending is satisfying and they all go home together in the end, sans the judge.

The words rhyme so my grandson was sing-songing it. So cute and his sisters loved it when he read it to them that way! No really yucky words…nincompoop was the worst one!

This is a remarkable book... I used it in my speech correction classes many years ago... the children loved the words, the repetition, the pictures and especially the ENDING!!! Hard to find...

I ordered a NEW copy and the oneI recieved was old and dirty. It even had an old library envelope glued in it. I returned it, of course.
