Does not work
I was excited about this as I have 3 Hunter fans which I would love to be able to control without fishing around for remotes. Unfortunately it does not work.My remotes have one button for the light off/on, one button for the fan off/on, and 2 arrows to control the 4 fan speeds. When attempting to learn remote the fan on/off could not be learned. We are instructed to hold the button down during learning. This just makes the fan turn off and on the whole time while the button is pressed and Meross fails to learn. It states it is leaning the light and I decided that speed 1 would be up and speed 2 would be down as there are not distinct buttons for this on the fan. However, none of it works. I noticed that depressing the light button on the physical remote will not change the light status until your finger leaves the button. I’m assuming that the signal from holding the button pressed is different. This is a bummer as I love my other Meriss products and have been happy with the performance. In this case the compatibility description seemingly should work for my hunter fans, but they do not. I’ll be returning the item

It does work, but no love for SOME Hunter fans
This device works flawlessly with two of my three fans and I love its functionality. It does exactly what it claims to.I'd like it more if it supported both my Hunter fans. Hunter is a supported brand and the remotes for both of mine fall into the supported frequency range. I tried the setup process multiple times. Each time it looks like it's learning, yet it's unable to control one of the devices.Meross support is extremely responsive and friendly.I told them about a bug in the app. They verified it and within a week there was a new version on the App Store that fixed it.They explained that Hunter switched to a new communication protocol and they are soon launching a new revision of this device to add support for it. They also asked if I'd be willing to test it.This is definitely a company looking to become a player in the affordable smart home game and I think we'll be seeing a lot more from them. They have begun adding HomeKit support to their products, so they will reach an even broader segment of the market.I had initially rated this product lower, but after dealing directly with the manufacturer I had to throw on another star.

Doesn't work with hunter fans
Does not work with hunters fans as stated in a previous review. I spent an hour trying to get this work with my fans but no go. Do not recommend.

Limited functionality for more advanced/newer fans
I bought this controller to control (via app) a new fan I just installed - a MinkaAire Dreamstar (DC motor, 6 speeds). While I was able to program the controller to operate many of the functions, the app and controller is currently limited. Starting there, I’ll address some of the negative aspects of the product, which really come down to software/firmware limitations. For starters, this controller only supports fans with up to four speeds. The “Power” function assumes the fan is turned on and off by the same remote button - thankfully I was able to program this for the fan motor stop function on my fan. The four speed functions (individually) can turn the fan motor on to the speed selected. The Dreamstar has a dimmable light that is controlled by dual function light buttons on the remote. Either button can turn the light on and off with a momentary press, and adjust the light level by holding the button down. The software only supports an on and off function, which due to issues with the programming process (the “recording” process), those functions on the Meross app incrementally adjust the light level (dimmable function), and it fails to turn the light on and off. The reason for this is the recording process of the button requires the button on the remote to be held down for several seconds, and it’s apparent the recorded duration translates to the light button being held down for the same duration as the recording, and there is no software accommodation for discriminating between a momentary transmission (on/off function), and the dim function (holding down the button until the desired light level is reached) - all of which could be solved with simple programming in the app, and a firmware update. The Meross is cheaper than the first app-based fan remote controller on the market, but it’s clear this product is software and firmware limited - and there are questions whether this suffers from security vulnerabilities.

Very nice!!
All in all, I am quite happy with this device. It works PERFECTLY with Alexa and is actually very intuitive. You can tell her to turn a particular fan to medium, 50%, speed 2, etc. and it works every time. I have set it up in Alexa routines to turn off the fans after the room has been uninhabited for a period of time, and back on once someone reinters the room. Ot uses the motion sensors from my Smart Things to accomplish this. It works flawlessly. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I am not able to get fans to show up as units in Smart Things. I have followed the directions and get the proper screens and responses, but no fans show up in my Smart Things devices listing. It's a little frustrating. I cannot figure out how to contact tech support for further instruction.Even with the lack of smart things interface, it does everything else so well, I am highly recommending this for anyone wanting to automate their ceiling fans.OH NO!!! Now I see that this is no longer available.. What happened?
