Electric Lighter Rechargeable Dual Arc Plasma Lighter Waterproof Matches

I bought this lighter just out of curiosity, and I was genuinely impressed. I currently use a dual-flame Zippo torch insert for cigars, but I have to refill it with butane every three or four days, which isn't very practical. So I bought this lighter as a little experiment to see how well it would work. To my surprise, it actually works with cigars. You have to light it a little at a time, but even though it wasn't designed for that, it gets the job done. **Pros:** 1. The dual arc works incredibly well—even in very strong winds. 2. The battery lasts a very long time. 3. It doesn't leave any odor or taste on the tobacco. A classic Zippo leaves a terrible fuel smell. Butane is a huge improvement and is almost odorless, but it's still a fuel and can leave residue over time. After enough refills, that residue can eventually clog the lighter. With this electric lighter, that's never an issue. **Cons:** The only downside is that you have to light the cigar a little at a time. The dual arc is only about 3 mm × 3 mm, so it isn't large enough to toast the entire foot of the cigar in one pass. However, if you light it in small sections and have a little patience, it actually does a great job. For emergencies, if you have a little patience, this lighter can even light a cigar. It's an amazing little device. And because it charges via USB, you never have to worry about running out of butane or carrying refills. It's completely windproof. I'd love to see the same technology made as a Zippo insert—not just in a sporty plastic body, but as a well-made metal insert that fits inside a classic Zippo case.

500 stars!! I think this waterproof lighter may be the coolest thing that I have purchased for myself this summer. I use it all the time! I have never had an electric lighter before and the heating element is just amazing! Works fantastic in the wind and the silicone case is waterproof. It is easily charged with a phone charger. The little blue light comes on when it is being charged as well as when it is being used. When it's done charging the light goes out. There was some condensation inside the case the other day, my own fault, and when I tried to use it the purple Flames did not light up but the blue indicator light was on. I took this to mean that it was not broken. I blew out the condensation that was around the element, let it sit out to dry for a few minutes and it started right up again with success! One thing about the design is that the lid and the way it sits when it is flipped up and open does not leave complete exposure to the elements. What this means is that if you are lighting something other than a cigarette or rolled smoke the lid will get in the way. In other words if you're trying to smoke out of some kind of pipe the elements will not reach deeply into the bowl. All that being said I love this lighter and I wish I needed another one!

Update 9/30/20 - Received my replacement I bought. Opened it up in the kitchen and my daughter was working in the living room. Pressed the switch to light it and she immediately yelled at me to stop. She didn't even know I bought a new one. It's uncanny, but real. Now I have one for each of my vehicles for emergencies. Update 9/19/20 - Manufacturer contacted me within hours of my email. They indicated that this noise was a result of the arc being generated and there was nothing they could do about it. They said they were very sorry and offered to refund my entire purchase price and I could keep the lighter. I asked if I could get a replacement instead, but there may have been a communication gap as they just refunded me. I plan to buy another to see if this was a one-off or if it really is a result of the arc generation. Plus I wasn’t trying to get my lighter for free; they provided a lighter that worked and started a fire as advertised. Will update after receiving the new one. O.P.- Overall I like this lighter. I just got so I can't comment on longevity of the charge or the unit itself. Please note that I don't smoke so am not going to be using this as a daily user. This is going to be kept in the console of my truck for starting fires while camping, etc. Pros: - Plasma arcs are hot. They start a paper towel on fire instantly. - I purchased the orange one, and it's arc rods are situated where the plasma flows flat, versus some of the colors where the plasma flows cross-wise. I'm sure that this statement is quite confusing. Select the different lighter colors and then look at the layout of the plasma generating rods. The pictures on amazon are true as of this writing, per the layout. - Lighter floats as advertised and kept water out. - With regard to the battery and how many uses you can get and how long it will last in storage, I can't yet comment on this. It's made in China and I'm in the US. Lets assume that it takes at least a month from manufacture to crossing the ocean to Amazon packing and shipping to arrival at my house. I didn't charge it when it arrived, and I have sparked it over 50 times since getting it. The battery appears to hold a charge for a decent amount of time. Cons: - As I described in the headline, this lighter has an amazingly quirky flaw. Apparently when turned on, it generates an extremely high-pitched squeal. The first time I tried the lighter the dog ran away from me. I just figured he was scared of the lighter itself (he's scared of his own shadow). Then in subsequent lightings, my kids both yelled across the house asking "what's that noise?" I have lost a lot of my hearing over the years, so I can't hear it. I thought they were messing with me, so we ran a test. I sent them across the house (2 rooms over and probably 30+ feet away) and had them yell every time I lit the lighter. They got it right 100% of the time. Doesn't bother me as I can't hear it and it's only for very infrequent use. Just thought I'd throw this out there to anyone this may affect. I do plan to contact the manufacturer about the high-pitched noise and see if this is a flaw in mine or it happens in all of them. If I get a response, I'll update this review. Same with the battery life/longevity. So far so good. I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. Nice lighters. Sturdy, waterproof, windproof, refillable/rechargeable and nice looking. Great price and fast shipping. Perfect for camping, hiking, windy or stormy weather and for emergencies.

Love both of these lighters. The non butane one will zap you if your not careful but as long as you pay attention you want zap yourself. Doesn't hurt if you do just a bit of a shock. The mini torch last for a very long time without having to refuel it. They don't fall apart if you drop them on concrete or rocks. Overall a great buy a must for an emergency kit.

Price was low, $11 for the set. The electric one worked well. Only had them for a day. When I try to charge the e-liter, a blue lite turns on, but then turns off - the instructions read that means it's full when the blue lite goes off. The lighter works just fine. I'm concerned about the gas torch one. It works, but when I put some fuel in it, it felt like I was putting dry ice in it - not sure if all butane does that to all lighters, plus 1/3 of the fuel squirts out off all over the device, my hands, etc. I refueled it over my sink for easier clean up. I was afraid the lighter would catch fire, since it spilled over on the lighter. I cleaned the outside of the fuel holder, soap, wet towel, then alcohol wet paper towel, washed my hands. Suggest wear goggles when refueling. The instructions say to reduce spill squirt - air bleed it out, but it's very hard to bleed the tank, yet I did with a pen. If you try to bleed the butane can, that would be very dangerous - especially to the eyes. Tested it, it lit, it worked the first time, but not week later. But, after I entered fuel, noticed light thin new cracks on the fuel lighter. I suspect the fuel was so cold - it froze the canister and cracked it. Thus I cannot suggest this particular product; but try better brands, pay higher for better quality; stronger cover material. A week later, the full lighter would not work, no flame. The lid was closed. It was full of fuel. Just not turn on, no flame. I guess I'd have to try different brands, different company/maker. I got another brand, held in storage a year, still works on same fuel. But not this gas LcFun butane refillable Summation: Bought this set with that name brand on it, gas one did not work. On filling, the gas squirted off and out, had a crack in it, worked, a week later, did not work, was also empty, poor quality. Electric one worked ok. Were from Amazon. I recommend buy other different brands. You get what you pay for. :-(

Both lighters met my expectations. Love them in my Bug Out Bag.

While not the most robust build, at $10.98 for two, they function well and, are reasonably priced for a butane and electric arc lighters. While classified as "waterproof" they are perhaps, at best, very water resistant since they do not have a seal around the flip cover, but it does latch down well. The "Plasma arc" lighter is easy to use but will take a bit of getting used to since I have only used a flame lighter and the arc is only 1/4-inch square so, to use, the material you wish to ignite must come in contact with that area to light. However, it promises to have some distinctive advantages since a source of butane is not needed and only a power supply and USB cable to recharge (can be done from my phone, car or solar) So, I'll be putting this in my Auto emergency kit. The butane lighter is a traditional lighter. The body must be pulled from the case in order to refill. The flame adjustment is also on the bottom refill port and you must use a very small flathead screw driver to adjust it which is rather inconvenient. Overall, it is a decent set that does work but its longevity remains to be seen.
