Nice.
A pleasant blend of his story and collections of mature practices that can be attempted to support a diverse community through transformation and results. I will add his book to my rereads and shares to others looking at another perspective.

I've studied John Mackey for many years and find him to be quirky and direct but also amazingly genuine and loving. The man reads voraciously and is a student of history and he has combined his personal experiential knowledge with this ancient wisdom in Conscious Leadership. His message is amplified by Carter (an amazing writer) and Steve (an amazing philosopher). Together they wrap up the key tenets of conscious leadership and developmental psychology. I purchased the hardback, then ended up getting the Audible version too. Happily, the narrator is excellent. I share this book with clients and friends and have had nothing but gratitude in return. Read and enjoy!

Conscious leadership must not have any subconscious attachments
I have always admired the work of all 3 authors. In the interest of full disclosure, I have known Carter and Steve personally and I featured Mackey's views on the subject of conscious leadership in my 2013 book MEMEnomics. Mackey also endorsed the 2018 book Spiral Dynamics in Action in which I detail the nature of the Conscious Capitalism movement that made Whole Foods such a success.Over the years however I couldn't reconcile Mackey's libertarian views that espouse limited government with the values of conscious leadership, which -in my work- promotes a concept I call Smart regulation. I believe it was Mackey's blindspot for the unregulated banking sector that spilled into Wall Street investment bankers that placed While Foods in a position of fragility and caused him to loose control over it.I had spoken to many of Mackey's closest associates before WFM was acquired by Amazon about voicing these concerns to him, but was sadly told that my work had nothing to do with Conscious Capitalism. Conscious leadership must cross the T's and dot the I's that exist outside the realms of personal growth. It must consider the entire ecosystem in which all threats to leadership exist and work on making organizations immune to them. Without that awareness, Conscious leadership will become just another good idea.

A must read for 21st century leaders
This book should be required reading for CEOs (in fact, I teach CEOs and have just added it to the syllabus!). It’s an honest account of conscious leadership that convincingly establishes that corporate leadership that doesn’t serve a purpose greater than profit is neither effective leadership nor terribly profitable.

Leadership at it's best
This book is a nice mix of the authors' experience well connected to enhanced views about leading organizations. It especially articulates the importance of the role of leaders in developing strong and productive culture in organizations. A nice companion book to Kevin Hancock's "The Seventh Power".

Insightful and useful book
I enjoyed reading Conscious Leadership and got a lot out of it. The insights are useful for small and large organizations alike, and they come from the real-world experience of an author who's actually grown a small business into a multibillion-dollar enterprise.

Nothing special
Honestly, this wasn’t all that great of a read. From a leadership perspective, I didn’t think it offered anything new or exciting. There was nothing offered that I hadn’t already seen elsewhere.

The key to success is still much about creating and delivering value in innovating ways
I've long believed that claiming to put people first and then not create and deliver value means people are not really being put first.This book contains many great insights in being valuable and delivering value. It also has useful ideas about organisational design, continuous learning, growing and revitalising, culture, the power of purpose and think long term, win/win, and innovation.Mostly for me this book is a great reminder about the priceless value of telling the truth.
