Dorman 926-119 Liftgate Glass Hinge

Previous owner (knucklehead) must have had the glorious idea of closing the hatch on a blanket or towel to dry it or provide shade. In the process, it bent the factory hinges in such a manner that the hatch no longer sealed. Recent CA atmospheric rivers revealed that point. Carpets inside were soaked... We removed the carpets and dried the interior with fans. Replaced the hinges and back seal and the leak is gone! Note: This add indicates 'hinge' as in singular. I ordered x2 thinking these were sold one hinge at a time. I received two sets. (Pairs) The hinges will be marked left and right.

Matched the original pretty darn good. Pretty easy to install if you have a mechanical background. Take pictures of how the old ones came out so you know how to reinstall the bushings.

These seem basically just like the factory ones. Fit fine and look to be decent quality.

Hopefully these hinges hold up. I got my hard top with a broken rear window because one of the hinges failed and the glass shattered. The one good hinge that was there looked remarkably like these Dorman ones, stamped the same and everything. Fair warning, there are no instructions or diagrams included on how this goes together or the best method to install. Best I can say it was a PITA with the top on the ground in the garage, but it can be done. I'm going to keep a close eye on these hinges, mainly because they feel cheap and Dorman hasn't given me a reason to trust them over the years.

Be careful not to over tighten and make sure to tighten each side equally.

probably a classic example of someone offshore building something, not knowing what it's for, and therefore messing it up. The screws are epoxied/glued into the hinge. this makes it harder to install because you need to do it with the window open. not ideal. not impossible. better quality control please! works as designed in the end.
