The "barrel" I refer to is the "sleeve" that you push up to reveal the micro usb. What that has to do with it, I have no clue. Double press only turns high power on quickly. I've had the flashlight for 10 months and the clip is so weak the flashlight keeps coming off.** A: With the clip removed from the flashlight, slightly constrict both wraparound tabs, either with your thumb, or by squeezing with pliers / Channel-Locks AFTER applying several protective layers of tape over the tabs to prevent marring the clip's finish. It’s small enough to clip on your pocket and keep it there all day long without it being obtrusive. It’s bright with good battery life. I use it quite a bit and only charge it once a week. I never realized how often a flashlight comes in handy until I started carrying this one every day. It is well worth the price. I like that it has two levels of brightness.
