US Winchester Trench and Riot Guns and other US Combat Shotguns Paperback – October 1, 1992

I’m building my first M97 clone and have found the details invaluable for this build. There are measurements from butt plate to bayonet lug for each of the major conflicts the 97’s were issued. While my build will be mostly sentimental value, serious collectors will find descriptive breakdowns on stamping locations and types, as well as other details to ensure authenticity. Overall a great value

While this book only covers Winchester M-97 & M-12 Trench & Riot guns, for just $6(e-book version)it's a great book to have on my Kindle. I take the Kindle to gun shows with me and have info at my finger tips if I run across a trench gun and want to verify it's authenticity. That being said, it's no substitute for Canfield's more comprehensive book on the subject.

Like what is printed at the very top of the front cover: " For Collectors Only ". If you want info on Winchester Trench & Riot guns & other U.S. Combat Shotguns this is a nifty little book to have. It's small in size but has a very decent print size. Makes a very valuable asset for taking to gun shows , the club, etc.as a valuable reference source for on the spot debating inspecting serial numbers,etc. I would say the book is a " must have " for the serious collector of these shotguns or if you even have only one combat shotgun it's still a valuable reference to identify what you have. Don't look for colorful photos or a coffee table type book , it's a straight forward handy reference book with diagrams, specifications & also a little history included. It'll get the job done if you're serious about all I've mentioned above , I'm happy with it but it's probably not for everyone.

Decent reference book on the shotguns. Don't regret buying it.

I have not found a better book for the serious WW2 investor than this one on trench guns. The collecttor can definitely this one keep handy for an accurate resource.

Gives a lot of in-depth information on Trench and Riot guns. Bought for the specifics of Winchester Trench Guns. Highly recommend this book!

I saved 1500$ with this guide. The author lists every details to help us determine whether it is a real M97 trench gun or a riot gun with handguard and bayonnet.
