Great unit and great customer service!!
This little unit is great for the home mechanic! The wires on the clips pulled from the clips making it unusable but I contacted topdon directly and they send me a new unit in a few days! They have great customer service and would by this unit 3 times over!

The BT100 Battery Tester is top notch.
This is a sweet tester. You can charge your battery to 12+ volts till your blue the face. Cold Cranking AMP's is the batteries power to start your car especially when the temperature drops. We have 3 cars. Two of the them register higher CCA than shown on the battery sticker. The third one eats batteries. It's said the brands computer draws more energy than other vehicles. The car has been tested and found ok. This TopDon Tester shows low Life and Health. After charging with a battery tender for 3 days values return to modest values and the tester reports Good-But needs charging. The alternator test show Good Charging. With this tester you can see the battery can't hold a charge more than 3 days. I use to go by voltage. If U can charge to 13+ volts its good. Wrong. Voltage drops off quickly. AMP's to low. Can only hope the Mall Mobile dies in garage. Driver is to busy to get a new battery.I like the display, controls and especially the claws. The claws straddle the connectors easily.Received tester 2 days ahead of estimated delivery date.Instruction manual works for me. The crank test requires 2 people.Batteries can be dangerous and need respect. Follow all safety rules and the order of installing the clamps to the battery.1)Red POSITIVE lead FIRST2)NEGATIVE Lead SECOND.When Removing Tester:1)Disconnect the NEGATIVE Lead FIRST2)POSITIVE Red Lead SECOND.The above sequence holds true when Removing and Replacing the battery.Always use Eye Protection and never put face over top of battery. If terminals are corroded you will need 2 Vertical brushes, one for each post. Once U use the brush to clean the positive terminal a few times U won't get a tight fit on the negative post because its smaller. They are not expensive on Amazon. Also pick up felt pads to go around the posts and a spray can of battery sealer to minimize corrosion. If the cable connections are corroded U won't get a good tester reading or charge. My friend bought one of these BT100's B4 me. His tester gave him low readings on his car. and wasn't an old battery. We tested my battery and got Good same readings. I told him to wiggle the clamps on his batteries terminals and we both got the same Good readings.Have fun.

It's right on target. Just one issue you should know before you buy.
This is so much easier than using your other electronic tools to try to figure out if the batteries bad. If this says it's bad you can take in the battery and get it replaced. Without the shops giving you hassles on your returns. There's only one issue you should know before you purchase this. If you don't have at least 10 volts or 11 volts or 11.5. this thing will not register at all. You'll think it's broken but it's not. It wants you to charge up the battery the best that you can. If it doesn't have enough juice it won't give you any readings and it'll seem like it's broken. This is not good for little or batteries lawn mower batteries or anything kind of batteries that don't have enough juice or just shy of 12 volts. But if you charge it up it'll tell you if you have a bad cell and that's the key to replacing your batteries. And saving you a lot of hardship. It's already worked on two of my batteries. I've been milking these batteries keep charging them up. I wish I would have had this earlier so I could just know instead of messing with it just to replace it. I now use this at my shop.

Using the Jumper posts in the engin compartment will not work
It will not work on a jeep Cherokee with an start stop feature. I called Topdon tech support and they suggested removing the battery to get a correct reading. it worked. The battery is under the seat and has jumper cables posts in the engine compartment which will not work if used.Otherwise it is fantastic.

Great price! Does the job
I have been having electrical issues on my 2001 Toyota Sienna. Due to a warranty issue, the part has been on back order for over 2 months, the door won’t close so my battery is constantly dying..With 4 children I needed something reliable and powerful, so just in case while we are out and about, my battery dies, I don’t have to worry about being stranded. i’ve tried a couple of these and none of them have been strong enough for my Sienna (brand new battery I might add)After Reading the reviews I was sold on this one , it was a little more than I wanted to spend, but well worth it, for the peace of mind..this machine was a lifesaver!!It holds a good charge for over a week.I have to jump my van every day.. so it has gotten lots of use, And it’s holding up extremely well. for such a little machine it’s pretty powerful.. The van turns on literally Instantly. Also love that it tells me if the battery is still in working order..Worth every penny!! Highly recommended.

This battery tester is a great tool to have on hand!
My husband is a big gearhead! He loves everything to do with cars and trucks. If it has a motor and wheels he is interested (even some stuff without wheels). I swore he had just about every tool under the sun in his garage till we recently wanted to run a test on the battery in my car and couldn't cause he didnt have a battery tester. I am happy we chose this one as it is really easy to use and the readings seem to be pretty accurate. This is going to be helpful in diagnosing some issues we have been having with our golf carts as well. It tells you the volatage of the battery and if it is good or not. You connect the black clip to the negative port and the red to the positive port on the battery. If the battery has charge the machine will come right on. We have wasted money on replacing batteries when in fact they just needed a good solid charge. If we had this device then we could have saved ourselves alot of money and effort. This seems to be a good choice to have on hand, we will certainly get a lot of use out of it! It is a great value for the cost and could potential save money when trying to figure out issues with my car.
