A thrilling, action-packed and electrifying must read
Belle Dam is defined by its feud. It's shaped by the secrets it keeps and the lies it tells. It's beleaguered by its history. It's driven by vengeance and the quest for power. And it's safe for no one.Not for the humans who have no idea about its dark past. About the widow who waits in the shadows. About the witches and warlocks who battle for control. About the hellhounds who are summoned to exact revenge. And about the demons who see the citizens of Belle Dam as mere pawns in a game to be manipulated. A game that they control. Not for Braden Michaels who only came to try and save his Uncle from a vision that foresaw his death. Who only wanted to be rid of the burden of his witch eyes. Who only wanted to be normal. But who fell in love with his enemy. Who killed to be a savior. And who made himself a target of his enemies and a pawn in their game.***Demon Eyes is the thrilling, action-packed and electrifying must read second book in author Scott Tracey's Witch Eyes trilogy. Filled with page after page of twists and turns, secrets and lies, and underhanded plots and schemes that will keep readers guessing and suspense that will keep them on edge, this story will grab from the very first line. The author's sophomore effort is a stunning follow-up to a story that is incredibly original, beautifully-written and immensely entertaining. Picking up just shortly after the events in its predecessor, Demon Eyes returns readers to Belle Dam, Washington, a town divided by feud and home to witches and warlocks, ghosts, demons and shifters.Braden Michaels is still attempting to come to grips with his actions. Actions that saved someone's life and took another's. Actions that have far more consequences than just the guilt he feels. To start with there are the nightmares that seem too real. Then there are the visions forcing him to bear witness to events that are out of his control to change. And then there is the voice.A voice that seems to be coming from within. A voice that offers support. A voice that urges him to act. A voice he's not entirely sure is his own.As Braden tries to separate dream from reality, fiction from fact, another tragedy has befallen the city of Belle Dam. A girl has gone missing. And if Braden's visions are real, he might be the only person who can solve the mystery of who is behind her disappearance and find her before it's too late.Hindered by his witch eyes and by a city filled with adversaries looking for any opportunity to take him down, he'll have to rely on Drew Armstrong, the boy who seems to want to be his protector and Trey, the boy he loves. A boy who should be his sworn enemy.Author Scott Tracey has delivered a fast-paced, riveting and even more exciting installment in this series. With heartbreaking losses, shocking reveals, horrifying new creatures, bigger battles and a jaw-dropping ending, Demon Eyes takes this series to the next level. And with that same easy flow and beautiful writing that the author brought to his first novel in the series, this second book really sets itself apart, making Demon Eyes an absolute must.

Great book
This series will really tug at your heartstrings. It made me laugh, cry, and scream. It's well written. It shows the rivalry between Trey and Braden themselves causing them both pain while not taking away from the rest of the plot. Great read!

A little magic can take you a long way!
I actually started reading the series of three with this one, number two. The story is so riveting that I started paging through the sample and was completely obsessed until the end of the book. I then read book three, "Phantom Eyes", where everything is resolved and we get a happy ending. This story is a bit of a combination of a gay Harry Potter and Dark Shadows, as a young protagonist with the most powerful witchcraft abilities in a hundred years is kept hidden away from his family's enemies until he is a teenager. He is then, at age fifteen, forced into an ancient feud between two paranormal families. He falls romantically for the son of the enemy family, and is supported by his good friend, a shape-shifter drop out who is the black sheep of the town. I really liked all the characters although the girls were rather stereo-typed as helpless and prancing around in designer shoes and the adult women were all evil manipulators. I think the were-wolf friend should have been a girl. She could have fought hell hounds and stolen motorcycles too. That's not just a guy thing. ;)The hero, Braden is very likeable indeed, and we see events through his eyes as he grows from a young teen to an adult. Braden can't help but be his cute, sarcastic and annoyingly loveable self. This book is very intelligently written, the flow of events was constantly exciting and the background has a good creepy vibe. I will definitely read this book again. All three books give you good long run of three or four hundred pages as you sink into this new world in the town of Belle Dam, where witches, werewolves and demons run the show. There is a bit of m/m romance, but no graphic sex. Although it's a book for young adult/teens the material will satisfy any age. There is also a prequel novella to book one, "Witch Eyes" called "Homecoming: A Prequel to Witch Eyes"Quote: "To be humiliated was to be human."

Refreshingly different YA paranormal story
I am so tired of Twilight and all the Twilight young adult ripoffs. Finally, along comes a series that in my opinion, is refreshingly different for several reasons, not in the least being the fact that the main character, 17 year old Braedon Thorpe is gay. But he's not just gay; he is comfortable with it. He's not one of those whiny "I'm so ashamed; why can't I be straight?" types. That in itself makeshim a great character. This is a Romeo and Juliet type story in which Braedon and the boy he's crazy for are both sons of two witches whose families have been feuding for centuries. There is quite the chemistry between Braedon and Trey, and you can't help but root for them and hope that somehow, they can end up together in spite of everything. Trey's affection for Braedon is obvious and very sweet. Aside from the romance, the paranormal aspect is very exciting: witches, demons, hellhounds, ghosts, a shifter who can become not just a werewolf, but any animal he chooses, as well as magical battles that are thrilling and awesome. Braedon is a witch and it's wonderful to read his transformation from a shy, insecure boy to a formidable, confident witch who doesn't take crap from anyone; not his powerful father or his manipulative friends. I can't wait to read the further adventures of Braedon, Trey and Drew (the shifter). I'm not, however, a big fan of Trey's sister, Jade. I just can't find any sympathy for a girl who supposedly has no flaws.

Great gripping story
I loved the first book and this sequel was just as great! Plenty of plot twists and turns, with engaging characters. The gay subplot was less intrusive than most teen romances, with it being part of the hero's life, rather than the be all and end all. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and am looking forward to getting my teeth into the third one.
