Book layout and material is excellent. Covers all objectives for the security+ 601 exam - I really like the "exam tips" and the review questions after each section. To the previous review that states there is no 10% off voucher - there is - it is right inside the front cover of the book, along with a code to access the 200 practice questions online. Well worth the price for all the information covered in this book for sure.

I have taken a lot of certification exams, and can say, the Mike Meyer's books are by far the best resource books. I don't even have COMPTIA certs anymore and I still buy these books as reference material. These are no fluff books. They don't waste time explaining what a keyboard is. They assume you already have basic fundementals and get straight to the stuff you need to know, not just for the exam but as a competitant professional. Additionally, they are not just a knowledge dump to get you past the test, they actually give you what you need to understand the material, which is far more valuable as a professional. They are easily referenced, when you need to know something, and don't require you to dig through chapters and paragraphs of pointless page filler. I used these books a lot as reference material while completing my Master's Degree, and I still keep updated versions in my library for personal use.

Ordered the book new, paid full price. why did it come in this condition? 2 stars because of the condition it arrived, not the book contents.

Only reason I bought this was for the 10% discount. The discount code is MCGRAW10, which by the way is the same discount code in the SY-501 book and it doesn't even work!

Yes the book helped me pass the exam. Barely passed it. Not a single question from their exam site(Total Simulator) appeared in the actual exam.
