This is an awesome modern recreation of the classic Fuzzface. It creates enormous, often tempermental sounds that can quickly be tamed with your guitar volume knob. If with single coils, this position of cranked fuzz and backed volume will get you glassy, mellow, full range harmonics. This is very well built and looks like a classic piece of electronic artistry from the 1960's-70's. I feel like I own a piece of history after this purchase. There are other products out there that will get you a similar sound. I'm personally very happy with this beauty from Kansas City.

Awesome Sound
At first use, I wasn't liking this pedal because I was getting a lot of loud hiss through my amp. I don't use a wall wart with daisy chains to connect all my pedals but rather use power bricks with individual 9V/500mA hook ups. I changed the power supply to one of my better bricks and the hiss immediately went away and the Fuzz Pedal's sound was simply amazing. When a new pedal doesn't work like expected, you have to do a little trouble shooting to find where the issue is coming from. Once you isolate the issue and fix it, its all good going forward. This is a great sounding pedal and I couldn't recommend it more. I really like the Fuzz it produces and JHS really nailed the sound from 1973.

Sounds like a Classic Rocker!
This was my first distortion pedal. It made me sound like a real rock star!

Awesome
Never was a big fan of silicon fuzzes......but this thing rocks. Get your 70s fuzz on, that's what I love the most about it.

Sounds amazing with my single coil guitars
Exactly what I was looking for in a fuzz. Sounds exactly the way a fuzz face should sound. With the pedals’ knobs essentially dimed (I do roll the pedal volume back just a bit to kill some of the pedal’s noise), it does the clean thing with my strat’s volume pot pretty well (clean around 6) and with my silver sky SE perfectly (clean around 8). I think the difference between the two is that my strat has some higher output pickups in it and the PRS is closer to vintage. They both sound great but the volume difference from clean to fuzz is harder to manage on the Strat because I have to roll it pretty far back for cleans. 10/10 would recommend.

Classic sound
This pedal has the classic fuzz tone. Best I've used. Straight out of the box I noodled some Cream and Bluesbreakers tunes and this fit the bill perfectly. The only reason this isn't a 5star is no power supply.. for the price I would think a power supply could be thrown in. Couple specific points.1) pairs perfectly with all the pedals on modulation row (after fuzz in chain). Slow deep phaser + trem sound memorizing!2) surprisingly also sounds amazing with screamer added in front of the signal. I was expecting it to be too much but added just the right amount of boost for linear noodling.3) does not pair well with Active PUs. Clips, fizzles and loses all sustain. If that's all your running would not recommend. My strat is S/S/H and it sounds awesome in all positions.Would recommend this to anyone with passive PUs looking to add that authentic vintage guitar hero sound to their bag-o-tricks

Sick edge of destruction octave fuzz pedal.
This pedal is very hard to beat at what it does which is the old Univox Super Fuzz. It gives you that amp about to explode sound with a great deal of control over the volume balance between on and off. The tone variation is not as much as some other Fuzz designs but for what it does, nothing I've found does it better - thus 5 stars. It is a bit pricey but worth it IMO. It can be subject to AC line noise. If that happens I pull the 9v jack and run on battery.

Absolutely fantastic
I've been looking for a pedal that sounded like this (that doesn't cost $2k) for a while. The Sun Bender from Analog Man was another option, but I wanted something that got really close to the sound of the original with the stability that germanium can't offer. Many other gain pedals are touted as being versatile, this is the first one I've had that I really noticed the touch sensitivity shine. I can play a smooth jazzy run then switch up, play some heavy fuzz rock lines, and slide right back into a more relaxed tone. All without touching any knobs at all. The pedal stays crisp and clear the whole time, giving me a sense of control and something I can only describe as being "finite". This pedal doesn't change the tone of your guitar, and it won't hide mistakes. The team at JHS has done a great job, I'd highly recommend this pedal.
