Stop your research and buy this swing!
I settled on this product after endlessly researching baby swings, and I am incredibly happy with my purchase. Before baby was born I decided not to purchase a swing at all because I could not find a single swing with consistently positive reviews. When my baby finally arrived and her evening fussy spells began to wear on me, I decided it was time to pull the trigger and just pick one. I thought that for such an incredible value this swing could not possibly have all the same bells and whistles as the others twice the price, but it does. This swing was easy to assemble and it is a high quality, sturdy product. I have used it every day for a month and have had no problems whatsoever with movement, music or any other feature. It's super easy to switch the swing position from front-to-back or side-to-side, and I love that it can run on batteries or stay plugged in to the wall.At such a low price, you should seriously buy this swing now!

Much loved & used
I bought this swing 5 years ago and right now a baby is swinging in it. I have a small (6 children) childcare and this swing has been in use most of the last 5 years. I like the battery or plug option. I usually use battery function to avoid loose cords but either works great. It folds well enough to stash in a closet but doesn't require dismantling to do do. All of it washes easily and surprisingly has not faded. The swivel swing function is so nice too. Some babies prefer the side to side swing.

Underwhelmed - The aquarium swing was better.
We were given the Fisher-Price Aquarium swing (last years model?) as a gift from a friend of the family, and despite having multiple swings and shaky chairs for our little boy, it is clearly his favorite. Because it is the heaviest and most inconvenient for us to move around the house, I thought i'd buy a second F-P swing for downstairs. The aquarium swing is apparently out of production and this is the replacement. The changes between the two are a mixed bag but generally I would say this is an inferior product. Here's why:1: This swing has an open back - the only thing supporting baby is the cloth pad, which stretches over a support bar. This works fine for a non-moving shaky chair that is 6 inches off the ground, but for a big moving swing like this, I am just not comfortable with this setup. For reference, the aquarium swing had single molded piece of plastic that supports the bottom and back of the chair.2: The chair itself attaches to the swing arm using only four machine screws that are screwed into plastic. I"m not crazy about this either, although I can't say if this is any different than the aquarium chair.3: The mobile is crap! When we first turned it on, it made a horrible grinding/clicking sound when the leaves "moved", which they barely did at all. mainly it just made a lot of noise. Also it's much farther up and out of reach relative to the mobile on the Aquarium chair. I don't even think my son can see it from his angle. This -MAY- be just a defective mobile we got, but given the overall 'cheapness' of the new design, I don't have my hopes up...4: There are no toys or objects of interest on the tray that goes over baby. On the aquarium swing, the tray had a few colorful doodads on a track for baby to push around (when he could finally reach them). Now, the good news:1: The swing motion definitely is less intense than the aquarium model, which in my opinion is a little too strong. With the Aquarium model we have to weigh the swing down with hangars and an umbrella to keep it under control for our little guy. The the Rainforest swing, we don't.2: Comes with a power plug for the wall. The Aquarium swing can only be powered by 4 D-cell batteries, this unit gives you the option, which is nice, since neither swing is really that portable.3: Speaking of portability, I think the changes they made to this swing were designed in fact to make it more portable, as it does fold up where the Aquarium swing did not, so this may be worth noting. I think the added portability does not offset the (to me) perceived safety compromises, but your mileage may vary.4: The tray that goes over baby is designed to stay attached to the swing and just flip up, encouraging its use. On the Aquarium swing, the tray detaches on both sides when you take it off to put baby in, and I can tell you from experience it doesn't always get reattached after baby is strapped in.I'm sending mine back, mainly because of the defective mobile, but more generally because of the dissatisfaction in comparison to the aquarium swing. That swing is, as i said, out of production however, so if this is the only option and you don't already have the aquarium swing, you may like it. It's cheaper than the Momaroo we bought, and baby does seem to prefer the swinging motion of the F-P models the best, so take that for what its worth.2 stars. I deducted one for getting a crappy mobile. If it wasn't defective, it'd probably be a 3.

Best swing I've owned
This is my third baby and my third swing (I had a hand crank one and a battery powered cradle swing before). This is the best one I've had yet. I love the bright colors and great mobile toys that actually keep babies attention, that it has the ac adaptor (which is all that we've used), and the option of baby swinging front to back or side to side as different babies prefer different ways. Unlike others I don't find the motor too loud. It's as loud as other swings and the sound of the motor is usually soothing to a baby anyway. I put the swing together by myself and it went together quickly. I feel that it is sturdy. The seat is at a great angle for a newborn and can adjust when they want to sit upright. I don't care too much for the music or sounds (although my older kids like it) but I like that the mobile moves and the leaves on the mobile open and close. My baby is still small (about 11 lbs.) but I don't worry about the swing not being able to handle more weight since we have only had to use the lowest swing setting to keep it moving. The other swing I was going to chose was a papasan swing but the new style was on back order and I was nervous about the reports of babies tipping out of the seat. That's not a problem on this swing and my baby looked snug and comfortable even as a newborn. I'm happy with my purchase.

Loved this for both my babies
We bought this exact swing from a mom to mom site for my 1st son, he absolutely loved it, so when it broke my heart sank. When I found out we were expecting a second baby I began searching for this swing. I couldn't find it in stores and when I found it on here I was so happy! This swing is the best! It has little animals that spun around the baby's head and 4 or 5 different music settings. I personally love the sleep setting, it gets my baby to sleep everytime. There are also a lot of different speeds the swing goes at which is nice compared to other swings. Also the direction of the swing can change too from side to sode to front to back. It's battery powered or you can plug it in. It also folds up nicely so you can travel easily with it. A must have for moms everywhere!
