terrible replacement for oiginal
Today my third spray hose arrived. first - amazon seriously rocks for ridiculously fast prime delivery. yesterday while disassembling the faucet to replace the 1 3/4 inch rubber washer (which apparently decayed, broke, and fell inside, causing problems with side-to-side movement), I apparently stressed the spray hose I bought a year ago a bit too much and it sprung a leak! so the NEXT DAY, amazon has one on my doorstep, delivered USPS next day - SUNDAY, even though the scheduled prime delivery date at order time was Tuesday.Anyhow - back to the review. I first ordered a replacement for our 10-year old Kohler last year - a year to the month in fact... the first one was missing a washer, amazon to the rescue and a no-hassle return/replacement. But still, this new, plastic braid is NO substitute for the metal-armor plating of the original. Not only is it ugly (black as compared to the original silver) - but it does not fit as well as the original. It simply does not slide in far enough - thus always has a little bit of wiggle when not using in spray-hose mode. Still, it was better than buying an entire new faucet (I thought), so I bought one. Then here we are a year later and I am buying another one. This new model has a weak plastic braid on the outside of a simple rubber tube! (no wonder it sprung a leak). So be careful moving side to side, or in my case, pulling up just a bit too much on the handle assembly. So since I had the old one that I bought last year, I took a pair of scissors (super easy to cut this bad boy), and indeed not much inside other than a soft rubber tube, however you should know there's a metal SPRING throughout the tube. So all the "fresh" water you are drinking is getting a little extra dose of metal you might not have been aware of. Good thing we have a reverse osmosis system to drink from, instead. So if you've ever tried to fix Kohler plumbing fixtures, you'll know the replacement parts are virtually impossible to find! Go to you favorite hardware store and ask one of the folks in the pluming section. They will tell you how hard it is to find parts. I will replace Kohler with another brand at any chance. For now, we have a bit more life out of it - but next time it is a whole new faucet, for sure. And certainly not Kohler.

Shorter than original hose
It's 2" shorter than the original Kohler hose which I didn't realize until I went to fill my coffee maker that sits by my sink. It was too short to reach. I took it back apart and removed the brass weight that slid over this hose and attached it lower around the connection with a plastic zip tie. That gave me the 2" back and it now it reaches okay. Normally the 2" wouldn't matter much except in my case it did. It's pretty easy to install if you have some mechanical ability.

Warning - Kohler guided me to this part - incorrectly
Per Kohler web site, is a replacement hose for Fairfax K-12177-G Kitchen faucet. It is not. Mine required the quick disconnect, which this one was not. I ended up ordering the "KOHLER 1056336-CP Hose Kit- Braided Spray- Quick-Connect"

I returned it because the repair job was no easy task and I had to replace the entire faucet
The product arrived on time, was packaged properly, and met expectations. However, I returned it because the repair job was no easy task and I had to replace the entire faucet. Investigate your job prior to ordering parts.

Four Stars
This is much shorter than the original spray hose but cheaper than installing a brand new faucet.

The replacement piece saved us a small fortune in not having to replace the whole faucet. But it is a much lighter weight than the original.

Be your own plumber!
Yay! I managed to repair my broken faucet hose myself. It took a bit of close scrutiny to make sure this was the right hose for my sink, but it did turn out ok. Save $200 on a plumber.
