Mine works well; had it a month. UPDATE after 6 months.
UPDATE: Used this for 6 months now and dropped it several times without damage.Whichever pocket I keep it in, the count is very consistent -my journey to work is always 1200 steps.Haven't had to change the batteries and the clock is useful. The best thing of all is that I don't ever have to press any buttons (unless I want to see history), there isn't even an on/off switch as it simply goes to sleep when inactive.Highly recommended; useful, accurate, reliable and great value. Buy 2 and give one as a gift._____________________________________________________original review:Yes, the User Guide features text small enough to be written on an ant's borrock. But once the date/time, pace length and target daily steppage is entered (I suggest 10,000), it looks after itself.I've found the counting to be accurate when in either trouser ticket pocket or shirt pocket. A belt clip would be nice but the versatility of this particular pedometer means it works however it is carried and does not need to be held on the hip. A lanyard is supplied which has a plastic quick-release clip but I have not tried wearing it around my neck.Apart from the daily total step count, a bar goes up showing how much of your target you've achieved and the time is displayed. The readout isn't especially big or bold so not suitable for those with poor eyesight perhaps. The step count is automatically reset at midnight and it is very easy to review your week's progress simply by pressing the MEMO button to flick through your last 7 days' achievements. The MODE button allows your exertions to be displayed as STEPS, KCALS or MILES. And yes, you can change this to Metric.Al in all, very good. Much more useful and easier to use than I was expecting.Recommended. All 5 Stars.

Good little gadget
A good little gadget that I enjoy using, reasonably priced. The setup was tricky as there is little time to put in your info before it switches back. Also the information booklet is very small to read. But once all that is done, it works great. It does not have a belt clip, but that does not worry me. In the morning I hang it round my neck, then when dressed it goes into my pocket. With the small size of 7x3 cm it slips in easily. I have set my aim for 5000 steps a day. There is a bar to tell you how far you have got with your aim. I don't reach that every day, but I count up 7 days and then calculate the average which is hopefully 5000 steps. Its nice you can look back on 7 days info. The clock is an extra addition. This pedometer is working well for me and a great motivator to keep fit!

Basic Cheap & Cheerful Pedometer
I bought this model because I wan't sure whether I would take to using a pedometer and didn't want to waste money on a fancy model if it would simply sit in the drawer. After having it for about three months I really missed it when I forgot to take it out with me and decided I did want a better model. Which was exactly the time this one packed up on me: hence only three stars. At this price I didn't expect too much - certainly not NASA levels of accuracy - but if it read 9000 steps I knew I had walked more than a day when it read 7000, which is all that really matters, and it helped my motivation to be more active. This requires seven seconds of motion to start counting, to prevent accidental steps being counted and as a result I found my distance showed up as noticeably less than the more accurate replacement I bought afterwards: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MW2S3IU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00After a while this stopped working properly: most of the LCDs stopped lighting up. I think this was caused by moisture getting inside. Partly my own fault because I was wearing it against my skin most of the time and I am taking medication which makes me sweat much more than normal. So three stars because it did what I wanted - enabled me to find out if using a pedometer was for me - but it wasn't either terribly accurate or particularly robust, but for such a low price it was still reasonable value for money.

This is a great little device
This is a great little device. I've been using this for the past three months and just watched the pounds drop off! Once you set your device a daily 'step target' (I've set 10,000 = 5 miles approx) it keeps track of all your movements. Others will complain about the first 7 seconds e.g. not counting your steps, but really c'mon if you are only walking for less than 7 seconds at a time then your not really getting any exercise and it's not worth counting! Go over the first 7 seconds and it'll add it to your count straight away with any extra work done. My target started low at about 4000, then I built it up over a couple of weeks. I work in a school and have a dog to walk therefore I'm on my feet a lot, but now I'm obviously walking further during my day to shift the weight. Just remember you don't have to achieve your target every day but it's good if you do! It has no clip on the back but I just pop it into my trouser pocket. Batteries are still going since I bought it months ago...bonus.

Flimsy, not very accurate
This seemed to be ok when I first started using it though I noticed very quickly that it isn't very accurate as it does not pick up on steps that I take while I am pottering around at home- it only takes faster, longer strides into account. So I took that into account when trying to increase my steps. Then about 2 weeks into using it, it fell out of my leggings pocket (I'm a small girl so this was less than a metre fall) and it has broken, totally stopped working. It just shows what looks like a black whale and black line on the screen, I'm not sure why.So inaccurate and flimsy- not even worth the £5 I spent on it.
