nice filter, it does help bring back the colors, it fits perfectly on the GoPro 60 meter case...it is like a 1/16" thick plastic gel, it seems to be relatively break/crack resistant but it scratches pretty ease so I would be sure to keep it protected before hopping in the water.

I wanted to give this a fair test before writing a review.I bought 2 of them because of other reviews, but in hindsight it was not needed. The video review is correct, it snaps on snaps off, the tether holds it well to the gopro. and for argument sake this product was used on a gopro 3 black edition (not the 3+) with the older 3 dive housing with a lcd bacpac. I took the filter to Ohau, Hawaii for a 2 week vacation, and took it everywhere because I never knew when I would get into the Blue/Green water.Was exactly as shown, black with the red filter and tether. Snapped on/off easily never broke, but has a backup just in case. Works well with the bacpac on the gopro 3 black, when attached it was red and then seconds later the screen clears up in normal daylight and its as if the filter is not even on. The filter survived the whole trip with repeatedly on/off in the water, out of the water. When in the water at the right depth the filter is seemless, below 10-15 ft but not at the surface 1-9 ft there was a tint in my video at the shallower water. But that is simply solved take the filter off and edit that video. In my option worth the price, compared to the more expense ones, it worked for my vacation and my amateur purposes. Yes the red filter is a film not hard plastic but that did not affect it filming capability and I caught some great sea-turtle an marine life video. Mahalo

Of course I waited too long to return the item, but received it and it didn't fit. I'm new to gopro's but I did my homework as best I could before my trip. I purchased a gopro hero 3 white edition, since I was going to be diving with it I also got the red filter for the hero 3, sorta makes sense (from what i can tell now, apparently the white ed is a 3+ in size, it's just called a 3, probably to confuse people). Problem was when I got the red filter 2 days before leaving on my trip it didn't fit, it was too large and was no where near being able to snap onto the housing. Also looking at the actual red piece, you can tell it's not the nicest, the red part is very wavy when you look through it. May have worked ok and I would have given it a try had it fit. Instead I hit amazon up again, found one with next day shipping available and ordered it up. The replacement piece was also much nicer as far as the red filter went, came with a nice case and a bunch of other filter options: WoCase Professional Switchable Lens Filter Set for GoPro HERO 3+ .

Stayed securely on the go pro for all of our dives. Worked well for our underwater photos. Great price for this product.

Does what is supposed to do. Fit is great, tether is super. I’m a happy camper.Update. Wish I would have purchased this several years ago. The difference is night and day. As stated in other reviews the pop off and on feature works well, and any red tint in shallow water can be edited. The color differences underwater is amazing and it shows when I watch old footage. I was unsure when I first snapped it on but I’m a believer now.

Make sure you get the dive case

I purchased this for my generic 8 screw go pro. The fit wasn’t perfect so I super glued it onto my case. Worked perfect. Only problem was it was a bit small then my case lens which reflected in the picture. I was able to crop it out on most pictures. Pictures turned out great on my Dive trip. I was a bit concerned because this one is plastic compared to my husbands glass filter. In the end there was no difference in quality.

I was worried when this first came because the packaging said it was for the GoPro 3, and we have a 4. But it fit on the diving housing for the 4.
