AND THEN WE DANCED

Beautiful
Beautiful, courageous and captivating. Should be included in one of the best gay stories in recent years. The ludicrous one star rating is worrying as of course there are subtitles! The acting throughout is excellent but the male lead will melt your heart......and boy can he dance. He definitely deserve an award. Buy this film for yourself and copies for your friends.

A Wonderful Film
This was a wonderful film, genuine characters and fantastic dancing. A heart warming relationship between two gay young men develops but is so so difficult in a traditional society. There was no difficulty with the sub-titles.

Stunning film, superb message, great acting!
A beautiful story showcasing the culture of Georgia and the personal development of the main character. I loved the soundtrack, the glimpses of Georgian traditions. It's a classic. I really enjoyed this film.

powerful
a powerful and thought provoking film . Definitely watch the extras with interviews explaining why and how the movie was made. Personal and political. A must watch. We stayed up discussing it for ages.

Billy Elliot but better!
A very real, tender love story. Great performances, amazing music and dances. A new favorite film for me.

Georgian dancing
A rather diffuse film, set in very traditional Georgia. A young man, training at the Georgian Dance Ensemble, falls for a fellow male dancer, who reciprocates his love, but has to go away & get married for family reasons, leaving the young man heartbroken. Some splendid dancing & an interesting insight into Georgian Society

Not that inspiring
It is an O.K film. Apart from the dancing at the end, there is not much else to recommend this film. The plus point was the fact it didn't have the typical Hollywood ending where everyone lives happily ever after. You are left wondering what does happen. I might watch it again, it is more likely to go to the charity shop.

Bewildering
If this film has a plot it's very difficult to discern. Perhaps the subtitles leave something to be desire? Very disappointing film. There was certainly no 'love story' in it nor any resolution/explanation.
