Easy-to-Make Decorative Paper Snowflakes (Dover Crafts: Origami & Papercrafts)

I love this book and it will be a great activity to do with my grandkids.

Kids love to cut paper and make snowflakes and this set offers a lot of different patterns. I use this book for my classes every winter.Just bear in mind that "Easy-to-Make" is a relative term. Kids up to 8th grade will likely need an adult to demonstrate at least once and children 3rd - 5th will need step-by-step guidance. Those younger than 3rd are likely to struggle and be frustrated.Also be aware these are artistic interpretations, not authentic snowflake patterns and should be considered decorative rather than scientific.

Ordered as a gift, have my own copy. Easy to use, I've madeabout a hundred by pencil copying the patterns onto copy paperthen cutting them out. Better for adults or teens. Complicatedcutouts for children.

The directions were very easy for the kids and the snowflake patterns were really beautiful. We had a good time with this project over the holidays.

I was hoping for some pretty, decorative patterns that could be used by my nephews to make paper snowflakes for the holidays. But, the patterns in this book are simply ugly! What's worse, the snowflakes themselves are very hard to make. Of all of the patterns, more than 20 of them need a razor knife to cut! I'm not handing a razor knife to my little nephews! D-

I buy this book nearly every year, to cut up and put on windows. You'll get a couple hours, here and there of quiet if you hand it to your kids!

These designs are lovely and can be used year round as well as at christmas. They are easy to do just requiring a pair of small sharp scissors. Wouldn't recommend for small children who shouldn't handle sharp scissors or can't make fine motor movements to get the edges etc. Will be able to use these for years to come.

Took ages to arrive (over christmas) but very good item.

This is a brilliant book for using with children. It is fantastic for 'Winter Craft' and Christmas decorations. Instantly gratifying to use while it hones fine motor skills. I have used this with children from eight years old upwards.
