Braun Series 7, 70-B7850cc.
UPDATE: DECEMBER 2024. Retired the S7 this summer, as new cutter wore down faster than original, was noisy before the end, and a second cutter is a lot more expensive than the first I bought. I Noticed the on/off rubber button worn, the other day, when giving it an inspection, and the handset is looking tired. So I followed one reviewer's advice: to buy one new cutter top; then buy a new electric shaver, which is better economics. So I switched to my like-new backup Braun Series 3, (which I actually prefer, and is waaay better than my 2009 gasping Braun S330-s4, which I just use the side cutter of, occasionally, as the nickel batteries run down fast) using the modern S3 with or without mains cable, and side cutter, that took just the few shaves it takes for the face skin to get used to a new type of electric shaver. (The replacement S7cutter fitted was good quality, made in Germany.) MAY 2023: Still works well, cutting nearly as close when using a pre & after-electric shave liquid/lotion, such as the excellent natural ingredients Waleda Shaving Toner (See my Review on Amazon Germany.) I use the Braun S7 around once every 24-36hrs, depending on any appointments. Still excellent quality shaver. #Due to current worldwide inflation, and globalization supply chains issues, I did order, early, a new Cutter piece. As per my manual (which could have been superseded) and a confirmation call to Braun, as the base of the cutter head states 360, the Part is 73S (Apparently, their are 4 versions of the 7 Series, including older handsets - which tend to benefit from technology advances, so that Braun are not leaving behind current owner/users of older models/ handsets. So I recommend a thorough check to identify the correct part code, to avoid order error. * I have yet to use it, having decided to see just how long I could use the original cutter, before needing to change it. #Sold and delivered by Amazon; without any damage, or dents to packaging, by reliable courier. After a lot of research, I chose this razer, primarily, due to it being sold & supplied by Amazon, with a heavy discount, as well as being a May 2020 model, with 2 years warranty. Braun batteries usually last 3-5 years, but your cover is for 2 years from purchase - so Braun confirmed that even batteries in models 2-3 years old, on discount promotion, are covered by their 2 years from date of purchase warranty. I understand that though the Series 7 have different codes, depending on the package, colours, etc, the handsets are all the same in quality and use of components, and build quality. I have whiskers like iron filings, and this weeks long epic found that Braun Series 7 & 9 to be recommended for hard/course whiskers and beard; and have the foil and central cutter bar I wanted, in a one piece. Series 9 has a Titanium cutter bar, but not foil; previously owners of Series 5, and above, had both. I eliminated the 9 as, even on offer for less than half price, it is too expensive (especially as Remington, also available from Amazon UK, do Titanium foil and cutter - but do not sell out of warranty charger, and no generic charger is available, either, according to one review. Some cheapos are also available with Titanium.) As well, S9 photos and comments are at odds. One photo showed a smooth shave, with one shiny reviewer obviously having applied a lot of balm; but another user looked like his chin and throat whiskers had been removed with tweezers! Also, even with the belt and braces cover by Braun and Amazon, I was reluctant to buy a 2019 S9 model - even less a 2018. I had also read that one S9 owner used his S7 Braun to finish off his S9 shave, and recommended the S7 over the S9. (This is my fourth Braun, but with a gap of around 8 years due to changing to Wilkinson Sword wet shave razers, with blue gel, as I made an uninformed purchase of a Braun 330s-4, in 2012, which gave a poor performance, soreness, and over stimulation to re-growth of my whiskers - requiring a 'mow' twice per day. So I have just used the side trimmer, these past months, to reduce the occasional overgrowth due to wet shaving every 2-3 days.) But in recent weeks my face, and lips, have been telling me it has had enough of more frequent nicks, dragging, and sore patches, and to go back to electric, with a wet shave once a week. My first choice was a top of the range 5 piece cutter Panasonic, but I baulked at more frequent, higher maintenance costs, including changing the battery every 3 years at a service centre - total in excess of £163+labour, over 3 years. Philips series 9000 I considered, as the company have many happy customers, inc two friends. But, although they have some well designed shavers, build quality remains an issue on some models, as indicated by reviews, as well as not being a known destroyer of hard whiskers and beards; best discount was for a 4 years old 9000 model! My Braun arrived sealed, with accessory parts in their own sealed hard plastic cover, or plastic bag - bar the loose little brush. The handset was actually inside it's bag, and inside the sturdy travel case - how clever is that(in these times!) The difference in price between a "full combat" package and just the razor, travel case, and charger was 🥜 "peanuts" so I plumbed for this, even though I am unlikely to use the "Miami Vice" stuble trimers, and will not be using the charge station-come-cleaner, which comes with the cleaning liquid! #Performance: in, short, a dream! I applied an entry level Pre-Electric lotion(Blu Stratos is the best priced at Amazon UK) waited 4minutes, then started my shave. I had been intending to use it just to keep down the whiskers growth, every 24 hours, or so, based on some of the reveues of the series 7&9. But I reasoned that might be a bit "wimpy"; and that admission, and resulting public shame, might haunt me for years! So I decided to "man-up", and have my first shave on 3 days of growth! The machine feels well-made, and that it will be long-lasting(a friend, whom I spoke to, surprisingly, has a 5 years old Series 7, and the performance is constant and fine, with charging, now, once per week. "Made up" with this startling revelation, I resisted, however, enquiring if we had in common the same taste in washing machines, powders, and household cleaning liquids!) So...my Braun effortlessly glides over my face, disintegrating my whiskers, due to its cunning design and build quality! Downward strokes, left to right across my face, a bit of up&down shuffle above my top lip, and right side of my neck, left my skin smooth as silk! No discomfort. No soreness! No dragging. No plucking. No long hairs left behind. No c.u.t.s! Tiny bit of reddening on right side of my neck. All over in around 4 minutes! I impressed the wife, with my new smooth appearance, who said I should have gone back to 'lecy shaving years ago! I then applied Low cost, German "LaToja" after shave Balm/protector, which gave me that rare content, and satisfied feeling! I have had no reddening since my first use, as my face adjusted to the new regime. As close to a wet shave as makes no difference, I do not foresee having a wet shave, ever again. Many thanks to Braun for a high quality product, designed and made in Germany (yes, the one in Europe, next to France) and knowledgeable and helpful customer service. Huge thanks to Amazon for the even more huge discount, sold and supplied problem free - as usual! Highly recommended product. & service; Amazon UK Logistics now graded number 1 for delivery times, reliability, service, by Which? organisation, in 2023. Buy with confidence... then consider a Braun S3, via reliabley proven Amazon, if the price of a new S7 cutter is close enough to the price of a new S3, and the S7 is out of warranty; and, especially, if you are budget conscious.

Nice shave, but not as close as a razor
Feels nice in the hand and gives you a quick tidy up without the hassle of a wet shave. Not very close though and quickly needs another! Add on heads are good for trimming but NOT for grooming. Charging station is noisy, do not put it on when the other half is still in bed!

Best shaver I've ever had!
This series 7 is absolutely brilliant, it feels so smooth to the skin as if its not even turned on. I've not had any burns, nicks or scars. I mainly use it to clean my neck and cheeks every other day. Now it won't shave it all in one go, you will need to go over it a few times but the end results are satisfactory. The cleaning station works great takes about 2 minutes to clean and oil the shaver, it does give off a chemical scent, if you don't like that give it a quick rinse and your good to go!I would recommend getting the attachments too as it offers a quick and deep trim, it doesn't miss many hairs which I also like. Now I'm not sure for other users but if you suffer from acne like I do, trimming your cheeks every so often can make a huge difference, my skin feels like its looking a lot healthier now because of the regular trims. The acne scars are slowly but surely fading which is also a bonus.Overall its a fantastic trimmer and you won't be disappointed. It works incredibly well, its bound to make you feel fresh like you just made it out the barber shop!

All my previous shavers have been another well known make, I consider this razor superior.Bought on black Friday deal ,do not know if I would buy for full price.

Braun 7000 shaver
Waste of money. I regret not sending it back when I first tried it. It doesn’t shave the finer hairs on my neck and misses stiffer bristles on my cheeks. Maybe I was unlucky. I have tried the Philips 5000 today and it does the job that a shaver should do at a third of the price.I am so disappointed with Braun

For this price I didn't not expected such quality, always struggle to cut hair on neck sides
I was satisfied with shaving my face, both with and without water, gel, or cream. However, when it comes to shaving the hair on the sides of my neck, the performance is disappointing. It struggles significantly and doesn’t provide a proper shave, even after multiple passes over the same area. Additionally, I ended up with a few cuts along my jawline. Considering the price, I did not expect this level of quality in shaving performance. I have to use my regular razor blades after using this machine, which I think I should not be required after spending such amount. Possibly going back to normal razor blade shaving if seller is happy to accept the return.
