Effective spa sponge
I got these sponges for our hot tub. I just pop one in agfter each time we use the spa and they are effective in absorbing oils/ scum in the water.

Worked for me
I was super skeptical when my hubby suggested we get these. We had a decent sized oil spill in our pool from a jug of peanut oil left over from Turkey frying spilled into the pool. We skimmed the surface several times woth towels before we decided to purchase these. Threw them in on Friday and it’s Sunday now. Sponges are tinted the color of the peanut oil and there is hardly any oil on the surface now. So I’m gonna say they’re working for sure.

Interesting packaging
I'm sure that they will still work in out hot tub but they are not shaped. It says they're shaped on the description but they cane in a very tight vacuum packaged bag so it destroyed the shape of them. They're also all stuck together into one large one until you cut or rip them apart. Again they still work but you do need to rip them apart and the will not be in the shape you order them in.

Useless
These do not work at all. They absorb nothing. They do absolutely nothing.

Are they working?!
The product came on time. I put several sponges in my swim spa and they turned brown after a couple of days. My complaint isn’t that they didn’t work, but when rinsed with water as instructed, they stayed brown. Nothing rinsed out of them. Makes me wonder if they absorbed oils, etc from the water or just discolor.

Rip Off! They don't actually do anything!
These are supposed to absorb oil in your pool or hot tub to prevent scum. They turn yellow when they are dirty and should be able to be rinsed out and reused several times. These don't do that. They don't do anything! They will turn yellow on their own when exposed to the air, which is why they send them in vacuum sealed bags. I have 10 left over from last summer and they're all yellow but have never been exposed to water. Leaving several in the pool for a week or two and then wringing them out produces no oil. If they're actually absorbing oil, it should come out. Washing them doesn't change the color either, even when using a degreaser like Simple Green. These do not do anything and are a complete rip off!

Waste of money
Does not work as described. I would return but they are not reusable or in sellable condition anymore.

impressive
helped with a problem from mineral stains around the rim of hot tub.after draining and cleaning tub i put 2 sponges in along with start up chemicals and water has stayed clear and no stain on rimthe sponges turned brown in a day from the minerals in the water. I've replaced the first sponges with new ones and they quickly turned color as well.

Fab product! Just add air to grow them from their vacuum packaging!
For people complaining about them arriving vacuum packed all you have to do is take them out in to the air & they grow into little flowers like magic!!These 100% work amazingly, the longer you leave them to float around the hot tub the more oil & dirt they collect going from pure white to a dark brown. Also handy to wipe the sides of your hot tub. Genius but simple product.

Super Vacume Packed but they Still work.
These are super vacuum packed and initially I couldn't believe there were 16 in the pack because it was so small. They are all packed in there and it is quite hard to get them to separate. But they do the job I bought them for.

Disintegration fell apart
Brought thease for hot tub. They did soak up oils and the water was much clearer. How ever very quickly they started to disintergrate and crumble causeing the hot tube to enter into error mode 2 (change the fillter). This could just be a bad batch but do not want to risk blocking up my pump with the bits.

Not sure if they do much
I don't know how effective they are, but it makes you feel better! They turn yellow which us probably the chlorine. They're handy to scrub the edges when you're in it. I don't know if they're much different from a normal sponge. They cone vacuum packed so you need to give them a but of time to puff up. I'll probably keep using them, because it makes you feel like you're doing something, whether or not it really has much of an impact!

These work perfect, it's the user doing it wrong if they dont.
If you follow the instructions these work. When they arrive open and remove the squashed strips from the vacuum pack and leave to sit for 24 to 48 hours. They will expand to their correct form and then they can simply be prized apart for use - my 8 year old does mine with no issue's at all. If you don't leave them long enough you will get issues when trying to separate them.Once in the hot tub they just do their job, we had near a week of hot tub use before putting these in so the first two went brown very quickly. We could see the oily scum on the surface but once these were in there is now just lovely clean water, we leave two in all the time now which give a good balance between cleaning power and lasting before requiring replacing (smaller 4 person tub).
