Secrets from the Sages to Enter the Zone
In Jason Gregory's book, he discusses his experiences in Asia and Australia, and in studying the spiritual traditions and meditative practices of Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism has discovered that merging eastern and western traditions is a practical way to understand energetic soul life and utilize energy for health and manifesting a purposeful life. READ THIS BOOK to understand the Dual Process Theory which divides mental activity into two spheres: cold cognition, analogous with rational thought, and hot cognition, based on emotional intuition. This theory suggested by ancient Eastern thought explains that peak performance is impossible to achieve by relying on solely cold cognition as it cuts you off from the energy reserves necessary to excel. Jason and his wife Gayoung have been able to live the life of their soul through simplicity and not being incumbered by the values of the physical world. A detailed and quite comprehensive intellectual examination of life in both physical and spiritual complexities! WELL DONE!

Jason's Outstanding Work
You can always count of Jason Gregory for great books (and YouTube videos). Jason's knowledge of Eastern thought is unsurpassed. He does very scholarly work, and then combines it with an easy-to-read writing style. Very informative and a pleasure to read.

Excellent book for young people
This book is for people who want to improve and achieve mastery in their chosen field. As a self-help book, it's a fairly general book that applies to wide variety of people. The most interesting part of the book is the discussion of "hot cognition" versus "cold cognition." I found this discussion interesting, and I would have like to have read more about this specific topic in more detail. Most of the second half of the book is about what the author refers to as four fundamental practices for peak performance. Unfortunately, these practices turned out to be extremely basic: eat well, get enough sleep, exercise, and practice meditation. If someone needs to make serious changes in his/her life, this book might be helpful by putting the advice on paper and all in one place. I could be wrong, but I would guess that most people picking up this book, wanting to really improve themselves, will have already embraced these practices.Overall, this was a pretty good book. It would probably be best for young people or those with no experience with meditation and/or healthy habits.

Content does not match title
There’s literally nothing in the book about ‘emotional intuition’ or ’secrets from the sages.’ Very little incorporation of Tao. Disappointed in the purchase.

cultivating yourself
I did not wait to finish the book to start applying the four fundamental mentioned in the book. I knew for a long time that I was lacking some discipline or structure in my life. It set you up for success if you decide to make those changes. The book itself is enough for you to start but if you want to go deeper the previous ones are always a good ressource to go back too ( my two favorite are "fasting the mind " and "science and practice of humility". I was able to relate from my work experience with task that are repetitive with the concept of hot and cold cognition. I was able to be in the zone within my job the same way Jason describe the athlete performances. The meditation part was also a great help for me to start structuring my day. Although result may vary, I did not expect great revelation on myself that fast, but I m now craving those meditation chunk of time like when you start doing exercise and your body release endorphines. it is a great feeling.Cant wait for the next work of Jason.
