Brought back alot of memories
I was probably 5 years old when I ran across a cartoon version of Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth at my grandparents house. It really drew me in and was impactful. I read it every year when visiting for at least a decade. I really love the story and it's great to see a similar version again.

exciting, my son loves it
I bought this graphic novel for my six-year-old son. He loves how they go into the earth and find awesome things (his words). It seems reasonably close to the original, although some of the minor character's names have been changed. He rereads it constantly, so a good buy.

An interesting graphic novel on Jules Verne Journey to the center of the Earth.
As a long-time fan of many of the Jules Verne’s books when I saw this version (Jules Verne’s Journey to the center of the Earth: Graphic Revolve: common core editions Katherine McLean) on Amazon I decided to purchase it. This series of graphic novels are aimed at so called “reluctant readers” and to enhance learning there is a reading section and a question section in this 71 page volume. I have read the original book in grade school and saw the excellent 1959 movie version (which in my opinion is the best out of the 17 different movies made on this Jules Verne classic) starring James Mason, Pat Boone, and Arlene Dahl. In most cases the book is better than the movie because a book explains more detail on the characters and plot; however, in this case the 1959 movie version is better than the original novel and this graphic novel. Nevertheless, this graphic novel does a good job of giving the basic plot and story Jules Verne emphasized in this adventure tale. The graphic novel tale begins when Professor Otto Lidenbrok, discovers a 300 year old book that belonged to the Icelandic explorer, Arne Saknussemm which tells of his exploration to the center of the earth. (Note: In the Movie version Axel Lidebrock finds a volcanic stone which when melted revealed an object which came from Arne Saknussemm). The rest of the story pretty much follows the original novel and I did find this version to be interesting and fun to read. The clear and colorful Illustrations in this graphic novel were made by Davis worth Miller, Katherine McLean Brevard and Greg Rebis. This graphic novel comes alive telling the fictional story of those exploring deep into the Earth. I recommend not only reading his graphic novel but to also see the 1959 movie, Journey to the center of the Earth (Forget the numerous other movies made on this Jules Verne story) to get the full experience of this great classic. This graphic novel is an excellent introduction to the classic books by Jules Verne for young readers to get them interested in reading more great books.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Martial Art and Warrior Haiku and Senryu).

A Brief Review for Oceanside Public Library Graphic Novel Book Club: Journey the Center of the Earth
I bought this for a graphic novel book club for adults, the subject was on classic literature. Its a fun and short story based on the classic Jules Verne novel itself.

Great rendition for kids
I liked the energy of the art work. It was helpful to have a pronounciation guide for the prehistoric creatures.

Superb retelling of a classic
A well presented retelling. My son, who is autistic and whose preferred learning style is visual was absolutely delighted with this
