Protected my knees but elastic not durable
BLUF: These worked fairly well but are not very durable. Would not recommend if you need something to hold up for a long time with strenuous use.Pros: protected my knees from hard impactCons: kept slipping down, needed frequent adjusting, elastic is really wearing down after only 5 daysBackground: I wore these for a 5-day field exercise. I spent a lot of time kneeling in gravel and plywood floors over the course of those 5 days. In addition to kneeling, I had to do a lot of running and fast movement. I had these on all day due to the nature of what we were doing and if I wasn't using and adjusting them they would slide down to my calves.

Cushin da knees
They work.. have to secure the straps with high speed tape once you got them where they need to be

Heavy for the design, unstable cushion
I have an old pair of the thinner ones that are basically the same plastic cap over a thin layer of foam, which are a lot lighter and more stable to kneel on. Old ones are UCP camo color, so I wanted to get something more neutral. Bought these, and wish I hadn't.These gel insert knee pads are a lot heavier, and the strap design just doesn't provide enough tension to hold them up well without also cutting into the back of your knees. The gel is also more malleable than the foam, so when you kneel down, it's a gamble whether or not you get solid contact, or if the knee pad rolls out or in.These are probably great for construction jobs, roofing, carpeting, stuff like that, but they're more of a liability, maybe even danger of injury, if you're trying to play airsoft, paintball, or other high energy movey-shootey activities.

Straps
Very comfortable, the gel pad is just flexible enough. Buckles work pretty good no noise from the connection. The straps are the weak point. I use these knee pads every day and am wearing them for about 6 hours per day, the straps are all stretched out and curled up, they have not failed, but a little disconcerting for the price of the knee pads. Overall solid piece of kit, 5 stars for a better quality strap.
