Constructed from highly figured Sapele with an offset "Whale Fin" sound hole they represent a whole new take on ukulele style.Sapele sometimes known as Aboudikro, like its straight grained cousin Mahogany has a mellow tonal quality. The off set "Whale Fin" sound hole is not only stylish it gives this ukulele a surprisingly balanced sound. Highly figured Sapele timber Detail. Necks have rosewood finger boards which are neatly fretted and have acrylic pearl dot position markers. The bridge is also rosewood with an acrylic saddle and neatly cut string slots for easy re-stringing. As with all Ukuleles in the Lani range the LS55/SM Ukulele is fitted with a set of super high quality Aquila Ukulele strings, widely acknowledged as the best ukulele string available today. The L55/SM series are available in the three most popular sizes of Ukulele I.e. Soprano, Concert and Tenor.All three sizes are available in an Electro option which are fitted with the Belcat UK300T EQ under saddle pick-up system. The output is a standard 1/4" jack socket located on the lower bottom bout of the instrument. The Belcat UK300T also has the benefit of having a built in chromatic Ukulele tuner.
