An Historical Reminder of Vietnam's Communist Regime
A family history from the heart filled with suspense and heart-stopping drama. I recommend Van’s story for readers of all ages.Van’s Story coincides with the fall of Saigon and the swift imposition of the deadly Viet Cong regime that followed. Ms. Ngo holds the reader spellbound in her re-telling of her father-in-law’s first-person account of his riveting journey. His meticulous planning, his courage, his integrity, his intellect, and his grasp of human behavior in navigating the regime and the unexpected, gave me a front-row seat to his pursuit seeking safety and freedom for his family. Ms. Ngo’s account of Van’s story has given me a renewed sense of awe and appreciation for the indomitable human spirit.Thank you!

Great read! Incredible!
This is an exceptional story and a great short read. I am proud to call one of the characters, Ray, an incredible friend and work companion. I had heard some of the story through Ray, but not nearly as detailed as Mabel was able tell it. I am quite certain that everyone who reads this could learn some valuable life lessons and would certainly gain some perspective as to what really matters in life. Thank you Ray for telling me about this book and thank you Mabel for putting this on paper for so many to appreciate and learn from. The Ngo family was/is so very blessed to have had such an incredible figure in their lives.
