So much listen, so little money
Using this on my RTL-SDR right now and it really brings out the signals, even set up in my den. I attached it to a pvc pole. It was easy. It only comes with sma connectors so if you want to connect it to a big boy radio you'll need an adapter. For this price, it's a great value. I'd buy it again.

Well built and effective
I purchased this with some doubts on its effectiveness, but after testing for a week itโs been a world of difference. Noise reduction itself is worth the price of the MLA. I can now pull in signals previously either too weak or nonexistent. For its size itโs been a plus since I am restricted on where I can put it.

Not as good as dipole, not robust, amplifies noise too, and is directional, yes is a 30+
I compared this to my attic dipole. My dipole was less noisy and had stronger reception. This is not robust, forget about mounting it outside unless you fortify it. Amplifies all the white noise too as well as modulation; this is directional so you constantly have to find your sweet spots per station and keep turning it until noise goes away, and yes, it is a 30+. I contacted seller to try and get an answer if it ships as a 30+ or not - they ignored me. Have fun SWL.

Great Antenna
Bought this in May of 25. I am a SWL listener, I just listen to Ham operators. I have an old Hammarlund 170 receiver. This antenna operates like $200 antenna. Those who have this or about to get one cut the 33 feet RG316 off too about 5 feet near the MLA-30 antenna box. then buy RG8X 50 ohm coax to you receiver. Of course do this before to put up the antenna. Much better noise reduction and reception. Also, add some ferrite ring cores around the cable especially at the connect of your receiver and out of the MLA-30 box. I have my loop about 21 feet off the ground using 3/4" EMT conduit. I also drove an 8ft copper ground rod in the ground for adding gas lightening protection. I also grounded my antenna 3/4" EMT mast to the ground rod. As of this writing Amazon has this antenna unavailable? But they do have the MLA-30 plus.

Surprisingly good performance and great value
This product performs well, assembles easily and is great value for the money. The cable is quite a bit longer than what I need, but for many people the extra length is probably necessary.

Really nice inexpensive active loop listening antenna
I live in town and the ability of my radio equipment to receive and hear stations has always been severely hampered by all sorts of local RFI so I started looking into the Amateur radio promised land of loop antennas to solve my problem. My first step in the process was to browse the various loop antenna kits sold by companies such as MFJ, etc. I found all of those choices cost hundreds more than I was willing to spend. Then I came across this very reasonably priced active shortwave listening antenna kit on Amazon . The kit comes with everything you need except for a SMA female to PL259 male adapter that you will need for plugging it into your ham radio receiver and a 5v power source for the antenna pre-amp. You will also need to build a frame to hold the antenna and accompanying hardware. I had a lot of fun over a weekend putting together my antenna frame and was able to customize it the way I wanted for an indoor installation. So with the frame built and the antenna assembled and connected to my radio, I fired it up and like magic my previously almost deaf radio rewarded me with a 40 meter band full of wonderful loud and clear QSOs. It was an awesome moment and I was able to enjoy these results with the antenna setting on a tripod in my attic. My final thoughts about the ML-30 are as long as you don't need a loop antenna for transmitting signals you won't find a better value than this inexpensive active loop antenna kit. With this kit you will be able to build a nice fixed location or portable low noise SWL loop antenna without having to spend hundreds of dollars. I'm happy with my results using the antenna kit and I would buy it again.

Sacrificing size for performance
It is an "OK" compact antenna and can null interferers a bit.....but don't expect to pull in weak signals. My 30' EFHW performs much better.
