Challenging recipes with fantastic results!
Amazing book - bought this for a colleague at work, who loves a challenge. He's tried a few of the recipes and it hasn't failed to impress. The ingredients and methods are great for testing your skills. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves baking and wants to take themselves out of their comfort zone!

Got the book as a present as I love Adriano Zumbo
Got the book as a present as I love Adriano Zumbo. Recipes are definitely not suited for beginners. I've tried to make some of the macarons and they came out lovely. Yet to try and re-create the more complex recipes.

Absolute crap. Beware don`t buy.
Absolute rubbish. inspired to buy it on the back off the Netflix series. Recipes consist of 2-day recipes for doughnuts, macaroons and the various toppings and fillings. Hardly any pictures. A small savoury section at the back. All of which can be found by googling Zumbos recipes. Don`t waste your money. Wish I could return it.

Get it just for the Macaroons
I'm lucky enough to able to drop in to sample Zumbo's wares and I can tell you his macaroons are amazing.I never was much of a fan of macaroons because most are just colour and sugar. Zumbos macaroons were the Road to Damascus moment for me. Thin skinned light crust with a perfect soft just chewiness to make the magic flavours dance in your mouth. Not so sure about his cakes, they are a feast for the eyes but often don't make sense when you eat them, too sticky, shiny and sweet and too many flavours fighting for survival. The French get their pastries right. Simplicity around basic perfected flavours, with classic good looks and not something that Carmen Miranda would put on her head. Zumbos efforts are for show, often with a macaroon jammed in the top. Maybe he should work in wax and then we could leave them permanently on display to impress our friends.Get the book just for the macaroons, but good luck trying to match the chef's efforts. Some things do need a heck of a lot of practice and skill. If you do match Zumbo's you will have indeed scaled the everest of sweet delights.
