Wonderful
Great story, wonderful main and supporting characters and an awesome world I plan on enjoying through the rest of the series.

it’s about the person
A quick, easy read with a simple but valuable message: the heart wants what it wants and labels are for packages, not people. Yes, the plot is contrived but the underlying sentiment is both valid and well expressed

Sloan ❤️Dean
I absolutely loved these two. Sloan and Dean are what every couple wants in a relationship. This is the ultimate friends to lovers romance. It may be a short read but it is packed with all the feels.

Fun read
It was ok, kinda cute. I never really got to know the characters too well or even care about them very much. I wouldn't be interested in reading a sequel and I doubt I'll look for anything else by these authors. An oddity for me (speaking as a Veteran) is that the authors don't seem too know much about military life. Marco just casually walks in to Dean's office, barracks are called apartments, everyone's calling each other by their first names ... But like I said, it was a fun, quick read.

Sloane and Dean, Best Friends♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dean is a medic, now assigned to Fort Dale. He is gay. His best friend Sloan is also now assigned to Fort Dale. He is straight. They have been best friends since boot camp six years ago. What Sloane does not know is that Dean has been in love with him since boot camp. Of course he has to hide it because he loves his friendship with Sloane. Sloane can be a grumpy so and so, but when they have their movie nights and cuddle up on the sofa with Dean’s head on Sloane’s thigh, he is at peace and so is Dean. Something terrible happened on Dean’s last deployment and Sloane knows he is not sleeping well and that he has terrible nightmares.

You fall in love with the soul not the gender💖
It was surprisingly good! I like the story, the characters the way it flow. This is the story of two best friends finding out they love each other. I like the way Sloane the "straight friend" describes his love for Dean, he said he doesn't think his gay because he still not attracted to other men but he get turn on by him. That is interesting to me because you literally fall in love with the person not the gender and at the end that is true, you never quiet understand why you love someone or not, you just do.💗

love this sensual and emotional read
It’s not smut. It’s something I ached for and didn’t even know it until reading it. It was heartfelt and brought tears to my eyes many times. I KNOW those feelings. This was so supportive of the LGBTQI community. I can only say so much but, I loved this story.

Pleasant Enough Trope
Best-friends-to-lovers is a trope which can get me wobbly or happy. In this one I'm sort of in between because the straight guy, Sloane, is such a crank and mysteriously straight that I wandered how long it would take for Dean's crush on him to evaporate. You can read the blurb to get the sense of where this starts and where it might going. Besides my hesitancy over whether the trope would work (it does, dramatically and logically) I was puzzled by the fact that Sloane is apparently half Latino without any serious exploration of how he got such a WASPish first name--especially when we are introduced to his mother and sisters who all have Latina names. That really bothered me but once again it becomes subliminal in the overall appreciation of another book by Romeo Davis which works despite a potentially illogical premise.

Fort Dale Book 1
Omg wow, has to be the sweetest friendship ever, grouchy straight guy and friendly gay guy till one drunken night changes everything. The best part I think is when grouchy Sloane is talking to his mam and says that he misses Dean and he just wants his friend back, you just want to give him a hug. Well written, loved it

Good book
I liked how Sloane realized he loved and started desiring his best friend after he received his love confession during a spat. The term was not used to define him but it really looked like he was demi-sexual and needed affection and closeness before he could love and desire someone. It was a light read and not much or short lasting anguish from both main characters. The story plot was simple, the characters depth was good and the pace was ok. The secondary characters Troy and John were lovable and interesting (how they interacted with others and saw themselves). Good read and read easily within a day.

Nice
This was a nice angst free read! I would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for Sloane. I liked him but his feelings for Dean were weirdly developed. The love was already there but the sexual atraction felt forced for me...? Like he didn't understand what was going on but just went with it? I don't know. Still liked it though.

Unerwartet
Das war unerwartete gut und sehr unterhaltsam . Die Grundidee ist nicht die Originellste, aber überzeugend und warmherzig rüber gebracht. Gerne mehr davon

A secret crush that turns into an eye opener
Great first time I've read Romeo's work and thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Good to read a great story without some major tragedy spoiling the trope. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to the rest of Romeo's work in the future.
