Works like a charm
Very simple but worked perfectly to remove bike crank.

Does the job
I had a mountain bike with a bent frame so I wanted to strip all of the parts. I tried removing the crankset without this tool and it wouldn't budge. I ordered the tool and put it to work. It doesn't come with instructions and this was the first time using it. The tool had a little trouble at first screwing into the crank, but with a little brake cleaning spray into the threads, it cleaned the grit out the groves and the tool screwed in with ease. Be sure to retract the inner screw of the tool and screw the outer screw into the crank as deep as possible. At first I didn't remove the black tip and I felt like I needed too much pressure on the wrench. When I took the tool off I could see that the black tip was not small enough to fit in the square. I pulled off the tip then reinserted the tool. Now it fit inside the square. I reattached the tool and beared down on the wrench. The crank came off! I took the second side off, then proceeded to remove the crank. I inserted the crank tool into the crank and grabbed a 1/2" breaker bar. After a bit of pressure and the crank not loosening, I tried pushing the opposite direction and the crank came loose. Success! This tool does everything it was supposed to do. Great price, great quality.

Do not apply heavy force to remove crank!
This review is from using the tool and my Raleigh bike with a Shimano bracket. After removing the crank bolt, check the size of the bracket shaft. The puller end must fit inside the square crank. The swivel end has to be removed from the end of the tool. Removing the end is a simple matter of unscrewing the components until it pops off. It is held on with a wire clip and can be easily pushed back on when needed. Follow the instructions from this point to remove the crank. In my case the square opening was the same size as the puller shaft which caused a noticeable amount of resistance but not to the point that it felt like something was going to break. After a few turns, the crank was released.

Decent value, but not as durable as I'd like
It's a good value and gets the job done. However, the crank puller broke the second time I used it. Fortunately, it's just the adapter for another style of BB that broke, so it will still work for square tapers.

Super easy, must have for crank/BB replacement
I was dumb and tried fruitlessly to pull a crank from a GT aggressor…about 30 seconds with this tool and it was off. Well worth the money.

They work
Both tools fit and work in a variety of bicycles. Worth it if you have a hub to disassemble and can't borrow one.
