Broke at installation, ref.: Dorman 42188 P/N
Two of these retention nuts are required per headlamp. After the 1st one of the wings separated upon insertion, I tried warming the next up slightly with a heat gun and it broke too in the same place. This was a Dorman 42188 P/N that's intended for a multitude of Chrysler product headlamps. I'm guessing they're molded from nylon using too much regrind or bad process control. Just speculating as a retired plastic product designer.In the same order i bought a few Dorman 42185 P/N for a Jeep and measured them with a caliper. They appeared to be functional dimensionally, so I installed them instead. They work just fine, cost about the same and are more robust as well.The P/N 42188 that are broken and some unused are not worth the trouble to return or refund.

Absolute junk. See the old to new. Tabs break off as snap going into the square. No snap in. They will break on you to. Doman usually builds good stuff. Someone screwed up. I bought 2 packs and both are the same. Junk
