Right off, recognize that this pen is simply a Platinum Preppy with an aluminum shell. If you like the writing and storage characteristics of the Preppy, you'll obviously like the Plaisar, unless the metal surface or shape bothers you.The Preppy/Plaisir has several great strengths:-surprisingly nice nibs: very smooth in medium, still nice in fine-unmatched resistance to drying out between uses, when capped-very fair price-want to change inks? Keep a Preppy or five "saddled" and ready to go with a range of inks, and swap the parts easily in less than 30 seconds. No repeated rinsing or mess.My main objection is that I don't really care for the look of the too-elaborate, flashy chrome band on the cap. Not exactly a show-stopper, however. Overall, the Plaisir has a nicer appearance than the Preppy, and is more durable in use. I like to color-code the barrel according to the ink contained in the pen. At the price, one can justify having a couple of these at hand.As with any fountain pen, performance is not entirely the responsibility of the pen; ink, paper (and user) all play a role, too. If you want to lay down a wetter or drier line, look for an ink that will help the pen lean towards just such output. (For example, Pelikan 4001 inks usually lend some dryness to a fp.) Likewise, the nib may be smoother or scratchier also depending on the ink, and more so on the choice of paper.If the nib in use dries out too quickly for your writing style, definitely try a different ink. Some people find adding a few drops of distilled water to an ink retards such drying-out; searching the 'net will surely produce some very specific suggestions.In summary, this pen is a nice performer for daily carry and use, and will be especially favored by anyone who wants to pick up a pen and immediately write without any fuss. A real standout in the under-$35 field. Above that price,definitely look at the delightful Platinum 3776 Century (from a Amazon Japanese seller, under $80) in blue or red, for a handsome, superior performer also equipped with Platinum's patented cap-inside-the-cap and a very nice nib.

Brief back ground.For a long time, my Platinum 3776 I bought back in 1980 was the only fountain pen I've used regularly. Before that, two more fountain pens, one was Pilot(Pilot Short) and I don't remember the other one.I've been very happy with my Platinum 3776, so I had no doubt in what I could expect.My first impression on Plaisir(white pearl finish, fine nib).1) light weight, for me, a pen can't be too light.2) Nice finish, very pleasing color. I later found out that the finish is extraordinary durable. I was expecting some sign of wear after repeat of cap and un-cap, by the experience from other pens. After two months of regular use, no sign of dullness. It still shines like new.3) Stainless-nib, it works just as good as 14 k gold(as my 3776 has) nib. It felt a little rough at first but by the time first cartridge was finished, it was noticeably smoother. It's almost as smooth as 3776 now, which has impressed anybody tried it. The nib is not flexible, just like all other general purpose writing nibs. I won't be hesitant to choose another stainless nib if I was given a choice between gold nib and stainless nib.4) Cap & Seal: it really works! I had problem with 3776 for needing a priming (writing something on the paper until the ink flow becomes consistent after it was left a few days unused). There's no need for such worry. It writes with full flow of ink from the first letter on the paper. It's a remarkable improvement over the older models.Cons?Some of you may find some cheapness about it, like the band around the cap. It is a cheap pen, it can be bought at $10.-. I have no complaints as long as functionally good.I'll get another one of these or a few of Preppy with different ink colors.If you have never tried fountain pen before, any fountain pen, you'll like how it writes compare to other types of pens, Unlike other types of pen, what fountain pens do is just sliding over the paper with no resistance unlike other types which requires you to push the tip down on the paper and smear the ink on the paper. Another advantage is evenness of the line thickness. If you've been dissatisfied with your hand writing, fountain pen makes your hand writing look much better.

The Plasir is the same excellent pen as the plastic fantastic Platinum Preppy, except that it has a sturdier metal body. Same stiff steel nib, same cartridges. It writes beautifully, and is sturdier than the multiple Preppys that I broke. I did have problems with minor manufacturing defects. The cap doesn’t fit tightly on the body, and the nib wasn’t set right on the feed. But for the price, it was still a good value.

Embalagem péssima! Imagina você comprar uma caneta de mais de R$150,00 e ela vir em uma embalagem de plástico BARATA. Quando se compra algo de marca, SE ESPERA que o local de venda envie na embalagem ORIGINAL da marca/empresa produtora. Extremamente decepcionado da maneira como a caneta foi enviada.

Ottima penna stilografica in alluminio anodizzato , non si graffia facilmente e la sensazione al tatto è estremamente piacevole , il gruppo scrittura è in plastica trasparente , condiviso con Preppy e Prefounte ergo facilmente sostituibile a costi contenuti se necessario.Il pennino, partito per altro appena inastata la cartuccia nera di cortesia scrive benissimo : fluido e continuo nel tratto senza rilasciare troppo inchiostro sul foglio , ideale per prendere appunti su agendine A7 come sono solito fare io.Sono veramente contento della scelta ultimo , ma non ultimo adoro il click secco e sonoro del tappo che si chiude sulla penna .Solo un appunto : il fusto in metallo tende a svitarsi sul gruppo scrittura dell' esemplare da me acquistato : ho risolto in modo definitivo facilmente il problema con un giro di nastro adesivo trasparente sul filetto in plastica ed ora la chiusura in battuta del fusto è solida e non da più problemi.

Ich wollte den Füller zum Zeichnen mit wasserfester Tinte, was ja nicht jeder Füller gut verträgt... Ich habe mich für das hübsche Eisblau entschieden, um meine verschiedenen Zeichenfüller gut unterscheiden zu können. Nachdem ich mich ein bisschen mit der Tintenpatrone abgemüht habe, um sie in den Füller zu stecken, musste ich etwas warten, bis die Tinte bis zur Spitze vorgedrungen ist. Habe ihn also erstmal einen Tag zu Seite gelegt. Danach überraschte mich ein wunderbarers Zeichnen- und Schreiberlebnis, er lässt sich ganz weich über's Papier führen, und die Haptik ist viel hochwertiger und angenehmer, als man bei dem günstigen Preis erwarten sollte. Jetzt habe ich ihn mir gleich nochmal in anderer Farbe und mit extra feiner Feder bestellt!

It's fine but the width is Japanese medium. It's not a con if you know it already. Hobbyone made sure the pen was all right and delivered it 13 days before the expected date. Good pen + good seller = good experience.

Stylo plume qui demande à être plus connu et on s'adapte aux cartouches qui posent un problème si on ne dispose pas d'un adaptateur.Par contre que dire de la livraison LA POSTE ? A quoi sert le service prime avec eux ? Je me désabonne de se service qui ne remplis plus ses conditions.
