Charlie the Cavalier Begs for Attention (Charlie the Cavalier Books)

I thought this was one of the cutest books I have ever read for children! Book explains how sometimes family or friends are far away, but they will be back. With the help of a free printable puppet, the book assures children that Charlie is keeping their loved ones safe while they are away. The colored illustrations are beautiful, and they will appeal to children very easily. It even comes with a free hand puppet!!!!! Charlie is the perfect family dog: loving, loyal and smart! He will grow up with you and love you as long as you love him back. He loves to go places with his family and play games. The author does a wonderful job of rhyming "Olive You"! Totally awesome children's book that I think even older children may enjoy because of the puppet - when you open the puppet it is the inside of the dogs mouth like he is barking or speaking and I think that will make children just have so much fun with this book! Five stars without a doubt on this one :) Must have, must read and must play along with the puppet even if you are an adult!

As a parent of a 15 month toddler, I know how difficult it can be to leave a little one for the night. Although it always seems that I am the one having a hard time, it can sometimes be tough for Kira to see me go too. Charlie the Cavalier Begs for Attention is a likable story about a little dog Charlie who will keep loved ones safe and protected while the child is not with their parent.Charlie the Cavalier Begs for Attention reminds me of some of the things I do to keep Kira calm and relaxed when things can get slightly out of control. Charlie the Cavalier sings the alphabet and whistles "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Often times we forget to tell secondary care givers the little tricks that help while we are waiting in line at a store or been to too many exhibits at the zoo. Most of the time, those little stressors while with parents are the same anxiety driven behaviors that start an incident while not with mom or dad but with grandma or grandpa.

Print it out on heavy cardstock or attach to a paper bag for best result. I think the puppet would be cute for the other party to take on "adventures" and take a snapshot together.At this point, my 4 year old wasn't that interested, though she does often talk about our friends that live far away. It may just be that it was an ebook. The author IS planning to release it in print soon, however. I do really like the concept, the artwork is cute, the rhymes are ok, and the inclusion of the familiar Twinkle Twinkle and ABCs is great.

My 5 year old loves to read, when we got this eBook she was excited to see the picture of a puppy, then we started reading it, at first she got bored at the first part but when we are reading the nursery rhymes she got interested and started singing through the ABC part, she also loved the knock knock joke and keeps repeating it to me. It would be great if they have a paperback book so she can get the experience of reading a book. (not on a tablet) All in all I don't think she minds it either way and loves the colorful pictures and the nursery rhymes.

Last night I had my husband read Charlie the Cavalier Begs for Attention with my girls and they loved it. I created a hand puppet for each girl and they sat on his lap all smiles. My husband travels frequently and can be gone for anywhere from an extended weekend to a year and a half at a time. I'm going to have him start reading this book more frequently with the girls, then when he's away it will be fun for them to interact on video chat together, both reading the book together and playing with the puppets! The rhyming and flow of the book are great making it an easy read. As my daughter learns to read more, she'll do a great job practicing reading rhythm with this book. Excellent choice!

Today the grandkids and I took a look at Charlie and how he begs for attention. The pictures are cute...but the theme is not one my grandkids are familiar with. Their family does not go away for long periods of time. Nothing against the story...but they are young and because mom and dad are always there they had trouble with the point of the story.They really liked that the ABC's and one of their favorite songs Twinkle was also in the story.It was good and they enjoyed it. Will keep for them to hear again.

My daughter (4) and I enjoyed this book. She loved the pictures and thinks Charlie is a fun dog. I sent the puppet to my brother in England, her Grandpa in Vancouver, and her Grandma and Bampa in Toronto. She was thrilled that Charlie was in Toronto with her Grandma. We all sang the ABC song together and Twinkle Twinkle while on Skype. She is going to be over the moon that Charlie is with the rest of our family as well.

I know that I'm supposed to share this book with my two little nephews, but what can I say, I also think Charlie is a cute little dog. The illustrations make me smile.The story is pretty simple, but actually it is perfect for me because it talks about loved ones and not seeing them, etc... and I don't get to see my nephews very often. I should also mention that my nephews are spoiled and they have every big-name children's book out there, so it's nice that I can give them a little present that I know they dont already have, but they can enjoy just as much. For a cute little kindle book, I definitely recommend it.
