Great tool to help the visually impaired person in your life
This works great! I found this in a occupational therapy magazine for visually impaired modifications. This really helps with medication management and increasing independence with labeling hangers with colored clothing. It does take some set up. The labels it comes with are yellow with white writing and they don’t have enough contrast for the visual impaired person I was doing this for to see them - they do have Braille bumps if you utilize that. All in all this works great

Could be better!
I bought this product as I have low vision and wanted help identifying things. It feels very cheap and sometimes I have to repeat the labels while creating. Also the dots are very light color so I have trouble finding the dots on the products II plut them on.

Cheap upgrade idea for very good product!
Much better than Pen Friend. Still some recording errors. More Quality control! Great buttons, light and talking instructions. IDEA: High tech is cool, but you can still add low tech to high tech. I mean, if you had to choose one color for labels, the bright yellow is PERFECT. But may a good extra would be variety pack of labels in different colors..For instance, if you are low vision and you put a green label on a spice jar of dried basii, the green conveys information. Why turn down the opportunity to color code? Additionally, a green label could have a big bold "G" and "green in Braille, but these are extras. My condition makes me moderately color blind. A bright green label on a subtle (hard to see) mint green shirt would help indicate the color. On the negative side: the auto shut off is MUCH TOO QUICK. Giveit at least 5 minutes. //Now two years later (and I see this product is not currently available - maybe shelved during a redesign? The company, succombing to the fashion of energy efficiency had the auto-shut off after two minutes! How much battery power does this waste in its idle state? How about a different philosophy of letting the customer retain control? i.e. an over ride :just stay on until further notice?" The talk is nice (it says "power on" and "power off") but not if it is always doing an auto shut off. They need to survey better what the product is being used for since the low vision and blind vary a l saw a satisfied customer who was using it to label objects. Sounds like a good use if you need it. For me, I have used it for two types of lists. The first, a recipe (where you prerecord the steps and put the lables on a sheet of paper. Each label represents a step. Works great, but who wants that power off between steps? Recently, I tried to do the same concept with an informal talk at work . Then each label and pre-recorded message was a major outline talking point, so my talk could stay on point. You really do not want to hear a bunch of "power on" and "power off" while giving a talk. You might also want better sound quality and short lead to the recording to use in a professional setting. The product boasted washable labels. Since my condition comes with color blindness, I tried the washable labels on the inside of some shirt collars - additionally secured by safety pin. Results were not good enough to conitue. Sane wuth my talk at work - I ended up discintinuing using the pen. Luckinly I had that talk well enough memorized! A professional quality pen might cost more, but would be nice.ThanksThanks!

Great device for seeing impaired
easy to use, am using it to mark items for my Mom who has lost most of her eyesight due to glaucoma. There are even washable labels so those blacks/purples and navy shirts are now labeled for her to match to other clothing. Plus, it helps as newer clothing doesn't have labels and these attach so she knows whether clothing is inside out.

very handy
With a visually handicapped family member, this has been very handy, easy to use and works as advertised.

Absolutely love it
Absolutely love this. I had been looking at a similar product for a long time but was worried it would not be worth the cost. This one is less expensive and appears to do the same as the more expensive one. I have had this for about three months and cannot believe how many uses I have found for it. I have marked my measuring cups, and measuring spoons, spices, buttons on the dishwasher and food in the freezer with not only the name of the item but the date. The only negative that I have is because I am legally blind, for me the yellow dots on a white background are difficult to distinguish. Also a brighter color or a variety of colors would make it easier to find on the objects.

Stickers don’t stick to anything
The wand works well but none of the stickers would stick on anything.

For sight-impaired Mom
I bought for my Mom as a gift and this one must have been a prior return and it had been used. First couple of labels already had some man’s voice attached with lunch choices. That was disappointing, but the product itself works great.
