As Cast Iron Should Be
I read all the reviews and decided to take a chance and order the Cajun Cookware 3 quart and 2 quart cast iron sauce pots anyway. I received them in what seemed like record time. Contrary to other reviews, my pots were well made, the lids fit perfectly well (they shouldn't be air tight on cast iron anyway), and the pots were finished like cast iron should be. The construction was sound, even, and cast iron smooth. Folks, cast iron isn't like the pressed aluminum pots and pans from Walmart. Cast iron is porous. It isn't smooth and will naturally have tiny pits in the surface. The black, glassy, smooth surface comes after years of use and PROPER care. These pots were no different than high dollar name brand cast iron, made just as well, and half the price. After a good scrub in hot water to remove the packing wax, I planned to spend an evening seasoning them. One seasoning was all it took to turn them glossy black and smooth as Uncle Rico's hair oil. I was a bit surprised how well they took seasoning. I started using them after they cooled and sat overnight and they performed like they'd been used and seasoned for years. They looked too nice to hide in a cupboard, so they sit on the counter top beside the stove. I couldn't be happier. The less than positive reviews were obviously from purchasers that had no experience with cast iron and don't understand how to use and care for it. The Cajun Cookware cast iron pots are well made, inexpensive, and perform excellent on the stove top at home and even better at a campsite.

Great little pan
Perfect size when cooking for yourself or a couple and you don't want to make large portions. Well seasoned to so foods don't stick.

Great Product -- Highly Recommended
I love these sauce pans. They are pre-seasoned, so, unlike "raw" cast iron, they are already "stick-resistant." This is a good-quality product. I am very pleased.Just wash them with hot water and a plastic brush, put them on a low flame to get good and hot (and completely dry), and it's ready to go. If you need to scrub with dishwater, restore the finish simply by heating (as above), turn off flame, spray with "Pam" (or lightly oil) while hot, and wipe off. Ready to go for next time.Cast iron mean even heating, better flavor, and more nutrition (minute amounts of iron migrate into the food). The only downside is they are a bit heavy, but the lip across from the handle means you can carry them with two hands.I am slowly moving toward (almost) all cast iron cookware. Good stuff.

Very Good pot - I use it all the time.
There are precious few cast iron cooking pots available today and these have proven themselves very serviceable. I have used them on a glass-top electric stove and a cast iron wood burning cook stove, with excellent results. They heat evenly and maintain their heat well. I have used them for everything I use my stainless steel pots for. They are easy to season, easy to maintain and clean up well. You can conserve energy because you are able to cook at lower temperatures than with standard steel pots. I recommend them for anyone who enjoys using cast iron. My only complaint is that they are made in China, in spite of the "Cajun Cookware, Mamou, Louisiana" label on the bottom. I recommend you get the Lodge cast iron pot handle cover to make them easier to handle when heated.

A FEW NOTES ON BAD LABELING AND QUALITY
DO NOT BUY THIS...if you want a 2 qt. pot! It's 1.5 qt. pot. False advertising, anyone? Who dropped the ball here? I hope Amazon will correct this! That said, this is a fine pot. The handle is a real help. Pot is seasoned well. Cleans up well. Glad I bought it....

Already been sent to re-cycling
First issue, thought this was made in Louisiana but actually made in China. Second issue, I did not want to waste it so i scrubbed very clean and seasoned. It responded to the seasoning process (same as used on quality cookware by Lodge) by turning very sticky and flaky. I really wish Lodge made more products in this size, will have to go with stainless (US) or enamel lined cast iron (French).Sorry, but can't recommend this.

Very disappointing!
I was a bit leery of purchasing this pot after reading some reviews noting poor quality, but since there seemed to be no other manufacturer of a 2-qt cast iron saucepan, I bought it anyway. I received it yesterday, and have not yet decided about returning it or keeping it.The "quality" of manufacture is appalling. The lid has an unintended hole (!) in it near the handle, and the supposedly pre-seasoned finish is very uneven, and the interior has both smooth and rough areas. The handle has extraneous material on the edges leftover from the mold, and the lid is off-round. The handle has rust on it. The capper is that it's made in China, leading me to wonder if there are materials other than iron present (lead?) and what substance was used to "pre-season" it. I am switching to a lot of cast iron cookware to cook healthier food, and I'm concerned that this pot is a step in the WRONG direction!I sure wish Lodge would make such pots, as their cookware quality is very good or excellent. The shape and size of this pot is exactly what I wanted for cooking such things as pasta sauce, but......I think I have now decided to return it.The only reason I gave it a star is that the pot itself holds water--or at least I don't SEE any holes in it.

Cast Iron Sauce Pot is made in China, and rough inside
I purchased two cast iron pots from this company, this one and a 1 quart dutch oven. Both of them are rough inside, and the seasoning is questionable as they rusted above the water line when water was boiled in them. The size is perfect for my purposes, but I'm not sure how likely I would be to cook food in them. They're great for warming a baby bottle in water, or heating a can in water, but I wouldn't advocate anything else until I knew more about the metal content.
