Not a textbook, which is its real strength
I was looking for a text that would introduce people to Macroeconomics concepts and ideas without being a Macroeconomic text book. I did a number of web searches and this book kept coming up as recommended. When I got it and flipped through it, I did not see the graphs and other things I expected -- still with a text book mentality. So I started reading and at first the language is academic. Talking about Output, etc. But after reading the first chapter and allowing my self to take it all in, the book's value comes out. Yes its a bit academic and macro economics has some big concepts, but if you give the book the time to read through part 1, then you will understand more. The books principles and ideas are timeless, but David Moss does a nice job of including commentary on the 2007 recession and the economic policies followed.Overall recommended for people who want to know more about how the macro economy works and make better sense out of the economic headlines.

Very clear and well written. Short and too the point. Worth every penny.
Best book I've read this year. As the title says, it is concise. Clear with thoughtful examples with unbiased descriptions of conflicting theories. Unlike some older texts, the author includes results from behavioral economics. Read page 146, "Uses and Misuses of Macroeconomics" first because it is perhaps the most important page in the book. If you are taking a macro economics course, you can read this book in a few hours and it will make the course material easier to understand. If you are an amateur investor who reads the financial pages, this book is worth your while. Again, start with page 146 where the author's warnings explain why some opinion pieces published in the financial journals are nonsense (or political ax-grinding).

Expected more academic language
I expected more academic language given that David Moss taught at Harvard Business School. Since I found it difficult to listen to macroeconomic concepts written for middle school, I stopped listening to the book and instead, ordered a book by another author.

Conceptual macroeconomics review.
A brief & succinct explanation of key macroeconomic concepts with the use of basic graphs, data tables, and painless arithmetic. This book is ideal for those in need of a quick refresher and/or reference guide. Overall, I was pleased with the scope of this brief book and the approachable writing style. The professional may find the Balance of Payments and GDP Accounting chapters helpful.*Delivered as advertised-New

Required reading for anyone who wants to be well informed
An outstanding introduction to the subject - covers the key topics in a concise and readable way. it was as if the scales had lifted from my eyes after reading the book, so many shorthand comments from policy makers, economists, politicians and bankers started to make considerably more sense - enabling me to make my own judgments, rather than having to take things as read. This book should be required reading - we all need to understand how economics impacts on our daily lives.

Amazing book.
This is very far from my field of knowledge. The book is easy to understand for a lay person, especially with some googling of terms. Gives a great overview of macroeconomics. This book is great if you want to understand the basics of marco without going into many details.
