Lightweight. Good for Cleans AND Dirt!
I have a Lab Series L5 that I love, but I had JBL E120 speakers in it. Two problems: While cleans sounded great, dirt, especially fuzz pedals, sounded too bright, sometimes ear piercing. The other problem -- the amp weighed 88 pounds! I could barely get it up stairs!!The Jensen Stealth 80s shaved 33 pounds off the weight, now 55 pounds! The new speakers still sound good for cleans, but now the highs are much restrained but still a little bit aggressive. In fact, the amp now sounds almost identical to my Mesa Lone Star Special with Weber Blue Dog ceramic speaker (50 W, light dope). This was my favorite speaker, but now it is the Jensen Stealth 80!I struggled to decide between the Jensen Stealth 80 and 100. The many sound samples on the Jensen website, Youtube demos, and the specifications including Thiele small parameters and frequency response plots helped immensely. The 100s sound good to me in the samples, but are probably a bit too dark for my rig and tastes. It appears from the response plots that the 100s shave about 4.5 dB from the trebles relative to the 80s. This might or might not be what you want -- Your mileage may vary of course. Either way, you can't lose in terms of weight reduction!

Was well worth the upgrade
These speakers sound amazing! They're perfect for creating a classic sounding heavy metal tone. I have them in a Carvin 4x12, powered by a 100 watt Marshall tube amp. The Jensen website has tons of interactive sound comparisons available for their speakers. I highly recommend checking it out to determine the exact speaker that will be best for you.
