Love this style of bulb!
I recently helped my brother paint a house he had just bought, and then went back a week later to help him move in. He recently had swapped out most of the bulbs in his house with these CREE LED bulbs. To be perfectly honest, the bulbs in all the rooms looked just like the incandescent style. Especially in the ceiling fan fixtures. The warmth and color was, at first glance, identical to an incandescent bulb setup. It was not until after he told me that I realized these were LED, and further inspected the bulbs. There is a unique cone shaped filament inside these bulbs that help them to put out light in such a manner. It is hardly noticeable until you stare at the bulb for a while. I do not see other manufacturers using this type of filament. After having multiple CFL bulbs burn out in high-traffic areas in the last month, I ordered a couple of packs for myself. I put them in the ceiling fan in our bedroom and the light is amazing. The bulbs illuminate instantaneously, with no perceivable delay. The color is warm, and projected at all normal angles. This is nearly identical in every respect to an incandescent, at a fraction of the energy consumption.Living in the south, I am always concerned about heat output from lights, as running the air conditioner is a constant for 9+ months out of the year. In my opinion, along with the energy consumption of running incandescent/CFL bulbs, this is the other "killer" in my wallet. Don't let CFL's fool you in this respect, though they do run at lower energy consumption, they also get very, very warm. It probably comes at no surprise that these bulbs not only consume significantly less energy, but they also put off far less heat. This, in my opinion, seems proportionate to the wattage consumption. This is now my "go-to" brand of bulb, and plan on sequentially replacing all bulbs (CFL and incandescent) in my house by next springtime. I'll definitely be looking for these CREE bulbs in other fixtures and bulb styles.I took a couple pictures for reference. The light is not nearly as yellow as my camera indicates, this is simply my camera compensating for such a close up picture of the filament in the bulb. The second picture is a bit more zoomed out, and will provide a better perspective of the all-around soft, warmth of the light.

Good bright, white light without being harsh or hard on the eyes. Excellent dimmable LED bulbs.
These are great bulbs. I put them in the "touch lamp" on my nightstand and they work wonderfully. The dimmest output is enough to see clearly to walk around the room without waking up my wife; the middle is good for looking around for stuff; the brightest is good for reading. The light is bright without being harsh (or, "cool light" as they put it) but is still a nice, pure white. The only thing that's odd is that with incandescent bulbs, the touch lamp progression was Off -> dimmest -> middle -> brightest -> Off. With these bulbs, for some reason it is Off -> middle -> brightest -> dimmest -> Off. Something I had to get used to, but not really a fault of the bulbs.

Superior to CFL Bulbs
I wasn't sure what to expect with these bulbs. I am using them in an outdoor wall light on either side of my front door. They are replacing some CFL bulbs of the same equivalent wattage. When turned on they look almost exactly like incandescent light bulbs with very good light quality. Drastic improvement over the CFL lights in terms of light quality. The light fixtures have glass sides and the light is much more natural looking than the CFL lights. I have been using them for only 2 weeks or so, so I can't speak to how long they will last.If you are looking for a replacement for a bulb where you don't mind seeing the base (the fixture hides the base in my particular fixture), these are a fantastic option. There are filament LED bulbs as well but the ones I have seen are not rated for outdoor use, so this was by far the best option for my application.

Perfect replacement for standard candelabra bulbs in my ceiling fan
Great little bulbs with some minor issues. My ceiling fan requires these little candelabra bulbs which really limited my options as I looked to move to dimmable LEDs from a reputable company. I am very happy with Cree’s 60W equivalent soft white LED standard bulbs elsewhere in my house so I gave these a try. Color temperature is just what I wanted and dimming works as advertised. They could be slightly brighter at peak brightness, but that’s not an uncommon issue for candelabra style bulbs.

This are fantastic LED bulbs
This are fantastic LED bulbs. The are dimmable down to very low light levels without any noticeable buzzing or flickering. The light color and output matches my existing 40W incandescent at full brightness while using a fraction of the power. The high CRI value (while not quite noticeable to my eye) is supposed to reduce eye strain. However there are number of issues that prevented me from replacing my living room chandelier bulbs with these:(1) The LED keep its color temperature as it is dimmed. Therefore it does not produce the warm and reddish glow you'd expect from dimmed incandescent lights. In fact at low light levels these lights produce a pale shade of white that is not very appetizing. If you use dimmers to create a mood these are not your bulbs.(2) It is significantly larger and heavier than regular bulbs. Measure to make sure that it fits your application.

Far better than Cree's new filament LED
These bulbs are far better then Cree's current filament replacement LED bulbs. Projects the light out the sides as well as upward, illuminating the room far better. The life of the bulb ( before dimming over time ) far exceeds the filament ones as well. I have numerous filament LED's that lose their brightness after only 1000 hours, meanwhile I have a number of these > 3 years of age left on 24/7 that continue to work to this day, and even with their dimming over time ( > 26,000 hours ) , are still somewhat brighter than the filament ones at 1000 hours. These TW series are well worth the extra $$$
