It's like auto focus, no button or dail

Q: Can they be worn over glasses?

Not really no. That said they work really well even in extreme conditions. My wife is Thai and my brother in law is Thai and he lives in the northwest of Thailand near the Burmese border. It is extremely rural think survival show kind of country, low mountains, rice paddies l, jungle. He asked if I could get him some night vision equipment for him to fish at night and hunt frogs at night. I'm like okay but I'm not spending $1,000 so he can hunt frogs. Anyway I got him these this last July and they're still going strong. He loves them and by the way he normally wears glasses to read. I was amazed because I paid under $30.00 for these things and they're being used in pretty extreme humidity, heat, darkness and the rest of it. My sister in law said his frog hunting success has increased dramatically. Hope this helps. Talk about an "off label" application!

Q: Will these identify infrared lights in the distance at night? for example, will they identify security cameras (with infrared leds) in the distance?

I wouldn't think so but you could always check with the manufacturer which is Spin Master

Q: Are these different than the spy gear ultimate ninja night vision goggles? i can't see anything through the ninja night vision goggles.

Not sure of the comparison between products, but these are true night vision goggles (single camera) the image is too bright in my opinion. It isn’t a stealthy product as the product has 3 LEDs (noticeable, but not bright) for lighting the scene. It is an impressive product for kids. In total darknesss you can see about 10 feet, any room light will help the product’s vision.
