Fine if you live near an airport. But better with some work on it.
Like most, the noise level is something of an issue. There are two speeds F1 and F2 and if you listen REAL HARD you are just about able to tell the difference. That difference is LOUD and VERY LOUD. Cant see this being used in a sleep setting without earplugs! The cooling experience is actually quite good, although even on the (slow) speed you could almost fly a kite indoors. I am wondering if there is an adjustment inside somewhere that allows regulation of the fan speed. Not ready to open it up yet so I'll make do with the arctic hurricane for now.UPDATE - 17/06/22First real chance to pitch this against a hot day. Impressive to say the least. Noise is still an issue but the cooling effect is very noticeable, despite the room it's in not being closed off 100%. Walking past the unit into the warm extracted air is quite astounding. Walking back into the cool airflow is most refreshing.Consideration really does need to be given to where you place this.1. Proper venting is essential.2. Easy access to the tank drain plug is important as it tends to fill up very fast on a hot humid day.Overall, it performs well and does what you want.Final UPDATE 24/07/22.So here is my final assessment. After a short spell of Covid and spending some time in the loft conversion, where it really does soak up the heat, this box of cool air has really performed well. With regard to the noise levels and the amount of water produced, I kind of fixed them both with one addition. I made a small platform for it to stand on that has rubber feet made from silicon sealant. TOTALLY eliminated the vibration that was being transmitted to the room below. Also, being about 5 inches higher now, allowed a small drain pipe to be fitted taking all the waste water into a milk bottle for easy disposal. All in all a great piece of kit. Had no problem sleeping through it, but that could have been Covid knocking me out.

CHEAPER ELSEWHERE
If you want to save about £100 then google the same model and find it elsewhere, as I did after buying from here! good AC unit overall! don't expect it to blow out 31 degrees air, it feels capped at 25 at most! but the 16 degree air feels amazing! have had running for about 3 months and haven't had any issues so far! nor have I had to empty the water container yet :)

A most excellent piece of kit indeed. The hedgehogs love it!
I bought this unit to control the temperature in our 20ftx12ft hedgehog hospital at The Hulse Towers Hedgehog Refuge.Despite the steel hospital shed being fully insulated, the hot summers of the past few years have proven very difficult for the hedgehogs in the hospital. Anything over 23-degrees-C can be very uncomfortable for them and we had experienced 32+ degrees in there. The aircon unit came with an outlet for a sliding window (who the hell has sliding windows?), which was useless. So I bought a "Cowled Gravity-Cap Ducting Cover" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XF4NN5J? ) and a 150ml hole saw (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bi-Metal-Cutting-Plastic-Drywall-Plasterboard/dp/B0C3QWD3VL/?th=1 ) and some Duct Tape then vented the ducting through the metal wall of the hospital shed. The whole thing took about 30-mins to do (not bad for a bloke who hates DIY). The cowling fits so well through the insulation that I didn't need to screw it to the wall. The aircon unit itself was very easy to set-up and it works fabulously! The temperature is quickly brought down to 22c when required and then maintained evenly throughout the hot days.Obviously you can hear the cool air being blown out and the movement of the vents as they gently go up and down to circulate the cool air but it is by no means 'noisy'. I can have a telephone conversation in there when it is running so I'd say it's quiet enough. My wife is so impressed she said we should get another unit for the bedroom or move the bed into the hedgehog hospital! As an added bonus, this unit will also be used to keep the hospital shed warm in the winter and it costs far less to run than the oil-filled radiator we were using previously.I'm very happy to recommend this unit.Photos attached.

Noisy but effective in small room
This is noisy as noted by other reviewers but I think you have to pay the big bucks to get a quiet one. For instance I cannot watch TV or sleep with it on but I mainly need it for working in a bedroom during the day so OK for my purposes. Also it does the job as I really notice the difference inside and outside the room on a hot day. Would need to be a small room though.

Disappointing
No indication reading product description or looking at photographs that appliance required a very large hose to be ducted out of the building. In fact it stated that it was portable and required no installation !!This was very misleading and rendered the appliance unsuitable for me.This omission has wasted a lot of time and created a lot of frustration.I have now had to return the unit.

Inefficient Insult to physics
These single hose systems are needlessly inefficient. They blow hot air out, this creating a vacuum in your home, warn outside air rushes in through gaps in windows, doors Ect.Moreover, the fan continues to blow even once the required temperature has been reached and the compressor (cooling mechanism) has turned off. This results in warm outside air being needlessly sucked in.Opt for a dual hose system instead. You can even get units that double as a heat pump.Dehumidifier tank is extremely difficult to empty.

Big recommend for comfortable rooms and sleep
Absolutely amazing. Makes the room refreshing and cool! Much more pleasant to sleep in a chilled room in the hot summer days. Not overly loud, no more than a regular fan in my opinion. It’s fairly heavy but wheels make it easy to roll around house (we have hard floors).

Best decision ever
As a person who struggles in the heat this was definitely one of my best purchases. It works great in the bedroom where I have been using it to cool the room down before trying to sleep. It is noisy but I can sleep easier with the noise better than I can in the heat of London’s summer heatwaves
