Complete dead battery due to being in inventory for 6+ years
This batch was manufactured back in 2019. Buying one in late 2025, you’ll most likely get one with a battery completely dead and unable to charge. The first one I got is like that, got a replacement from Amazon, exactly the same. It keeps looping the Apple logo on a charger and won’t boot. Ended up getting a replacement battery installed before I can even activate the phone. Also be aware that although technically you got one year warranty starting from the purchase date, Apple won’t be able to find the warranty info if you haven’t activated the phone and contact with their support to correct the purchase date, which makes it a deadlock - Apple won’t serve it if it’s not activated due to dead battery, you have to find a third party to replaced the battery ($$$), which voids warranty from Apple so you won’t get served.
